It is so absurd that It is funny I find myself laughing at the absurdity of it.Yes, this is the main nonsense of Mormonism, that God had to experience being a man in order to understand that which He CREATED.

Jesus didn’t have to do it either. Jesus came here to show us the way, not so he could learn the way.Yes, this is the main nonsense of Mormonism, that God had to experience being a man in order to understand that which He CREATED.
Whyme, God knows every hair on your head, and not because He is a man, because He is your GOD.
Okay, now I know the context. JS was murdered one month later. To my understanding, JS knew that he could face death at any moment. He made that speeech in the heat of the moment when his rush of adrinalin was at its highest. I can respect him for saying what he said. He wanted to make an impact on his audience and he did. And he was also correct. But one paragraph does not make a man or a woman. The whole content is right here:

Please notice Joseph’s lies about “spiritual wifeism”, etc. He’s really stuck on himself …
Indeed, the whole of JS life makes him and the whole of his life makes him answerable to God for much.Okay, now I know the context. JS was murdered one month later. What I find absolutely amazing is that there are people who actually believe what JS said. He sounds like he was truly mentally unbalanced.Again, you are falling for the false Mormons teaching that material success matters. It doesn’t, not one wit.
There are many worthless criminals who did unbelievable things. Doesn’t mean squat.
Mormons are dedicated to living the words of JS, which are, every one of them, lies.
The list of absurdities is unending. Sometimes, I wish I could drill a hole in whyme’s head, so all the stupidness of mormonism could get out. What I find absolutely amazing is that there are people who actually believe what JS said. He sounds like he was truly mentally unbalanced.![]()

Indeed, just mormonism seems to be based entirely on it (IMO).There isn’t a religion in the world that is free of stupidity. I’m in favor of letting the chaff separate itself from the wheat at the appropriate time.
Sure there are people who listen to his message. It is the same message that Eve listened to when she was tempted in the garden…What I find absolutely amazing is that there are people who actually believe what JS said. He sounds like he was truly mentally unbalanced.![]()
It is human nature to want God’s power and glory, and that is exactly what JS promised to his followers, not just that they would be with God and know Him, but that they would become just like He is now.[1] Now the serpent was more subtle than any other wild creature that the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God say,You shall not eat of any tree of the garden'?" [2] And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden; [3] but God said,You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’”
[4] But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not die.
[5] For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
[6] So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband, and he ate.
[7] Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons. (Gen 3:1-7)
What is the light of truth, but God Himself? The funny thing about arguing with someone over what they believe is that you’re often wrong and you end up looking like you haven’t done your homework."Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be." - D&C 93:29
Perhaps in your mind. Not really. I’ve been successfully arguing it for several years now.
And they say the Trinity is confusing …Perhaps in your mind.
Not really, no. The core of our consciousness, the reflection of the Divine, is our souls. Catholic teaching is that your soul is created at conception. Contrary to Mormon belief, and some sort of Eastern philosophy & American enlightenment thing (sort of redundant to Mormon belief) you have going.God, Intelligence, Tao, Chaos, Ain Soph Aur, etc. The “uncreated intelligences” at the core of our consciousness is merely a reflection of the Infinite Intelligence that is God. Therefore, though our divine sparks are eternal and uncreated, we as individual persons are still created beings in the Catholic sense.
Actually, Tsuzuki has simplified to the lowest common denominator. All the world (or at least most of it) believes in the Divine. And they say the Trinity is confusing …
One can be so “open-minded” one’s brains fall out.I think that Joseph Smith was a bold revolutionary who preached what he preached. I prefer to have an open mind about it all…
This still does not line up to Catholic belief. I think you are confusing the Incarnation, eternally begotten and creation. Which, I can understand doing. This is reconciled if you take time out of the equation, which does not exist for God.
Oh, something that can be scientifically verified! Got it? (scientific verification, I mean)I have yet to see an actual case of that. However, I have seen many cases of closed mindedness physically stifling brain development.
Your soul is not a reflection either, but neither is it an Incarnation,it is a creation. The Incarnation is not a reflection, but the actual light.
To paraphrase Chesterton, an “open-mind” is only as useful as an open mouth–eventually it has to shut closed on something worthwhile (for the mouth, food, for the mind, truth),I have yet to see an actual case of that. However, I have seen many cases of closed mindedness physically stifling brain development.
In what way?Every creation is a reflection of that which created it.
