I do recall a scripture that goes something like this…
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matt. 5:48
a lie you say?
Yeah - we subscribe to it, we even believe it, have faith in it and honestly strive to become like our Father in Heaven?
Break out the tar and feathers for saying it… busted.

One question though - Who are you trying to become like?
How about this quote from Isaiah 43:10 “You are my witnesses, says the LORD, my servants whom I have chosen to know and believe in me and understand that it is I. Before me no god was formed, and after me there shall be none.”
OR
John 17:3 (these are Christ’s words in a prayer to The Father) “Now this is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.”
So…was Isaiah lying? was he mistaken? How about Christ?
There are a myriad other quotes…but I think this makes the point.
I am trying to become like my God, but I am not trying to be an equal to Him nor do I believe that “equality with him is a thing to grasp”. There is only ONE God…that is a fundamental belief of Christianity. If you want to be polytheistic, that is your right, but it is not Christianity.
I have no disdain or ill feelings for people who are mormon. In fact, I have love for them and that is why I feel compelled to say what I have said. When Satan is leading someone off the bridge of salvation with this kind of deception, we must shed light onto the lie. I am not saying mormons are lying…I am saying that they are believing a grave lie…the same lie that Satan tried on Eve, on the Israelites throughout the old testament, and the same one he continues to try and sell each and every one of us every day…that we are or can be equal to God…that we can be God.
I pray for God’s blessings, mercy, and peace on all of us.
