As a Canadian, I knew that the support (or lack thereof), was bad with regard to Catholic pro-life MP’s but I had no idea it was that bad.

This article is a very damning article on the state of the Catholic Church in Canada.
 
Along with the sex scandals in the US and the new CCHD scandal I’d say the American bishops are not far from their Canadian brothers in this growing scandal.

The saddest thing is, however, that Rome knows this, has known this and does nothing, Even under supposed orthodox Popes.

Apparently many bishops really don’t believe - maybe this expalins the sharp drop in Catholic belief among regular communicants in the latest KOC survey. For one thing - among regular Sunday Mass goers opposition to abortion has dropped to 60%. That is stunning but IMO a reflection of the times.

The American church and the Canadian church are IMO in defacto schism. Worse, Rome really does not seem to care.
