That is the teaching of the Catholic Church. All Jews must convert. Jesus Christ is the only path. He is the way, the light, and the truth. He indicates that he believes that the path to salvation, even for Jews, can only go through Jesus, the savior. This opens the floodgates for the conversion of Jews.
Yes, you all should look up what the Talmud has to say about Jesus. When the Jews apologize for the blasphemies against Jesus and His Holy Mother in he Talmud, i’ll listen to their complaints about Christian liturgy.
The teaching of the Church is NOT that all Jews must convert…read the CCC a bit, especially around paragraph 839 and 840…that area. That is the teaching of the Catholic Church. All Jews must convert. Jesus Christ is the only path. He is the way, the light, and the truth.
Then why can’t I just forget Catholicism and become Jewish? The teaching of the Church is NOT that all Jews must convert…read the CCC a bit, especially around paragraph 839 and 840…that area.
All Salvation IS through Christ, but how He accomplishes that is not limited to your limited understanding.
I apologize for anything in the Talmud (that I’m sure no one here has read) that you take as blasphemy against Jesus. When the Jews apologize for the blasphemies against Jesus and His Holy Mother in he Talmud, i’ll listen to their complaints about Christian liturgy.

Funny how the people who knew Jesus best knew nothing about what he was really about, but outsiders always do. Well, at least your “internal Jewish dialogue” apologetic of Judaism is more sophisticated than the Muslim’s “Jesus got zapped off the cross!” alibi.Homolka: Jesus put forward his arguments within the context of an internal Jewish dialogue. What the Church turned this into was something completely different. It made Jesus the rabbi into a deity. On top of that, it claims that the crucifixion of this rabbi is relevant to my personal salvation. Such teachings would have been news to Jesus.
What is this based on? How do you imagine the apostles got the idea that Christ is God? Why did they break so dramatically and immediately from what Christ was teaching? To what end did the Church invent the divinity of Christ? When were the references to Christ’s divinity added to the Bible? What evidence do we have that Christ did not claim to be God?Jesus put forward his arguments within the context of an internal Jewish dialogue. It’s not an alibi. Jesus was clearly speaking as a Jew and to Jews. But I understand your displeausure. It’s like, for exmaple, Jews who know talmud best know nothing about what it means, but outsiders always do.Funny how the people who knew Jesus best knew nothing about what he was really about, but outsiders always do. And?It’s not an alibi. Jesus was clearly speaking as a Jew and to Jews.
I doubt you know what your talking about. Have you ever read the Talmud in its entirety? Do you even know the main divisions of the Talmud? DId you know that it would take the average person seven years to read the talmud!!! Thats not even including trying to interpret it. MY college library has all the tracates that are party of the Talmud. There is over 70 Tracates. Each tracate consists of more than 100 pages! When the Jews apologize for the blasphemies against Jesus and His Holy Mother in he Talmud, i’ll listen to their complaints about Christian liturgy.
Personally, if I were looking to defend Judaism, I’d go with the “all made up” thing, not the “Jesus never claimed to be God” thing. I think he did, and he was killed for blasphemy. It’s not an alibi. I get it. Believe me.
How can it be blasphemy when what He (Jesus) said is true?Personally, if I were looking to defend Judaism, I’d go with the “all made up” thing, not the “Jesus never claimed to be God” thing. I think he did, and he was killed for blasphemy.
That’s why the Talmud says what it says about him.
Actually the Church teaches that baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary. The Church does not believe there are multiple paths to salvation. It professes one path and that is through the Church. The sacraments are absolutely necessary. Have you heard of the doctrine “Outside the Church there is no salvation”? That is the teaching of the Catholic Church. The teaching of the Church is NOT that all Jews must convert…read the CCC a bit, especially around paragraph 839 and 840…that area.

Valke, the problem with that is that is that the accounts say otherwise. The accounts of Jesus’ life say that the crucifixion is relevant to you and to me and to everyone else. The accounts speak of God become man. Pope Benedict, in Jesus of Nazareth, quotes Rabbi Neusner as saying specifically that it is because of Christ’s claim to be God that he rejects Jesus.Homolka: Jesus put forward his arguments within the context of an internal Jewish dialogue.
