Its an incorrect observation.
That is the funny thing about opinions. We ofte confuse our own with fact. In your opinion. the media only reports facts. In my opinion, the inject way too much opinion in the name of fact. Trust them if you will. I have lived too long and experienced too much news to embrace your faith in their veracity and objectivity.
You mean you only believe info you are fed from the Church?
This is a stupid question. Either you asked it to attempt some sort of anticatholic insult, or you really do lack a basic ability to discern what you hear and read. It would explain a lot.

Let me demonstrate what I mean by opinionated reporting. The words we choose really do mean something.

"Rivalries". This implies a long-standing contest between opposing forces. People that disagree are not “rivals” for their disagreement. The Post used this word to emphasized a conflict that they do not know contain any long standing “rivalry.”

"Guests at the going-away party for Carlo Maria Viganò couldn’t understand why the archbishop looked so forlorn." An assuming of the man’s emontional state, not a reporting of fact.

Here is more rhetoric devoid of fact "tales of rivalry and betrayal, and allegations of corruption and systemic dysfunction that infused the inner workings of the Holy See "

How many emotionally-charge words to you count? PS - Start with “tales”.

"VatiLeaks, as the scandal came to be known, dragged the fusty institution into the wild WikiLeaks era." Insult, not fact.

"It showed how Benedict, a weak manager… " Ditto.

I mean come on. This stuff is that hard. One can do this with the Post, with Fox News, with Catholic News agencies, etc. It is not that hard to figure out a writer’s bias and see how the insert it in their articles to influence the minds of those who do not read with discernment.

Has anyone read or taken a quick view of the book (Ratzinger was afraid (Adagio) by Gianluigi Nuzzi - although there are several out there) that is out now that purports to reveal all of these ‘secrets?’ I read a sample of it on Amazon Kindle service. And I must admit to the unfaithful and non-Catholic, the sample tended to make it sound like the author had found the rotten core of the Church. He didn’t condemn Pope Emeritus Benedict of anything, but dropped a lot of names of those who were manipulating the Pope. ’ And the leaker was so distraught over the ingeniousness he was seeing in the Church, he had to collect all of these papers to get to the truth.’

What does anyone think?? My discernment says don’t get into the book, for reasons other than it is a rather haphazard translation of Italian and he refers in the title to our Pope Emeritus by simply his last name - like he was a lowly employee or something!)
