I have to agree. We can’t bury our heads in the sand and pretend that there is not infernal influence at work.
I want those defending Led Zep to answer this insightful response and respond charitably and rationally point by point to this case.

I readily admit that the Pixies, Smiths, Radiohead, Boo Radleys (bands I like) have songs which are dubious and sometimes I have to judge when/if it is prudent to skip over songs and sacrifice the enjoyment gained from listening to them out of respect for the Crucified Christ
Get a grip, you have to be pretty weak willed to get influenced by the stuff. Why do you not go after Motley Crue if your convinced this is a problem?

I do think there are plenty of REAL satanic bands that everybody could be going after, instead of trying to bring down bands that “might have secret satanic rituals embedded in the cd grooves”. And ok, that isn’t really a quote, nobody’s said that, but it’s what all you anti-Zeppelin people are starting to sound like.

I know what you mean. Try googling “norwegian black metal”. Scary stuff. Led Zeppelin looks like a Christian band by comparison.

And once you’ve done that, google unblack metal! It sounds exactly the same, only they praise Jesus! 👍

Hi, I’m new here on this site. I actually ran into this site by accident. I just watched Led Zeppelin movie called The Song Remains The Same and I saw a little introduction of each of band members and saw Jimmy Page had red glowing eyes in his short introduction. It bothered me so much, because I heard before that their song Stairway To Heaven had backmasked satanic message. So, i started investigating about possible satanism in Led Zeppelin music.
Let me tell you, I’ve been their fan for a few years, but since few months, I have become very interested in their music and I have embraced them as the most complete rock band in history of music. I don’t wanna explain why, because it would take so long that even rock critics wouldn’t have the patience to study my review. I just wanted to point out how much i like them. You can say that I’m too subjective about the whole thing, but I love Jesus more than this band, so take that in consideration. Anyway, I ran into many different points of view about satanism in Led Zeppelin and I found a site which tells that Led Zeppelin is “satanic to the core”. The author of that site gave many of good proofs why it could be so, but also, he wrote so many clumsy stuff that makes no sense. As I studied further, all I found was more evidences that not only Page, but all of the band members were satanists. I’m glad that I found this site and that men of religion find Led Zeppelin non-satanic. Now, about the Page, he was strange and interested in occult stuff, but he was five years on heroin. Who knows what would be your interests if you had such long addiction to such a strong drug. Whatever the reason was, I think that Page was never satanist, which he claimed several times, and that whatever he was doing back then, is way behind him. Man is now doing charity work and I believe that those mystical stuff from the 70’s are gone. Besides, he sold Crowley’s house. Thank you again, glad to hear opinion similar to mine from another religious person.
Also, listen to the song “In My Time Of Dying”. It’s about praising Jesus. 🙂

I’ve been a Zeppelin fan for years and years. I have fond memories associated with their tunes. I’m a guitar player so I have an affection for Jimmy’s guitar antics. He invented the stage presence guitar axe master effect.

Honestly, yeah, Jimmy got into the occult for a while and has owned an occult bookshop, believed in the Loch Ness monster and owned Crowley’s manor…

that being said, the guy wasn’t a Satanist really. I think he flirted with occult nonsense but if you really look at it, 99.9% of their music was NOT remotely related to diabolical topics. Think about it, like you said “In My Time of Dying” is an emotional plea to God in the Southern blues delta bayou style. Songs like Stairway to Heaven are emotional pleas to change while there’s still time, Ten Years’ Gone is about a lost relationship, Achilles Last Stand is mythological, No Quarter about warfare, Travelling Riverside Blues is an ode to Southern blues tunes of old, Immigrant Song is about Vikings, Rock 'n Roll is about, well rock 'n roll! 😛 Most of Led Zep is about blues, about the middle east, myths, or love. Their songs have no occult themes?

I think the bands to worry about more are the ones that explicitly promote an occult/Satanic agenda that try to influence people.

So, I wouldn’t feel guilty about listening to them. Listening to Marilyn Manson or Slayer? Now THAT should make you feel guilty!

I remember the first time I heard the “Immigrant Song” I was completely blown away. Even then the song was still 20 years old. I was hooked from then on out and I remember a few years after that the “Remasters” CDs were released. That just sealed it after that.

No, I don’t think Zeppelin were satanists. The idea of backmasking satanic lyrics would’ve been technologically very complicated in the early-70s and even for a well-established band like Zep, extremely expensive.

Having said that though Page was definitely the most into it all. Plant dabbled a bit, but he was more into the English myths and stuff like that. Bonham liked his liquor, cars and farming.

Although there is one story I’ve heard a few times and it has to deal with Plant buying Crowley’s house. I think Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath was staying at the house one night and he woke up to find a “figure in black” standing at the end of the bed. Apparently he couldn’t wait to leave the house and got rid of all occult stuff he had. That of course led to the song “Black Sabbath” with its line “Figure in black that stands before me.” I don’t know if it’s true but it sounds good.

A While back my sister started listening to Led Zeppelin and then my Mom talked to this guy that thinks they’re satanic( he has a lot of crazy conspiracy theorys) and she made my Sister stop listening to them cause of this. I understand that their guitarist bought a house from some satanist dude and they did backmasking but other bands did backmasking too like Nirvana and they weren’t satanic. You can listening to a lot of different stuff backwards you can here words but that doesn’t meen it was put there on purpous or even satanic. I’m interested in this band now but don’t want to listen to satanic stuffs so whats your take on it?
I grew up in the seventies and always thought they at least sounded possessed. I never heard a decent note from Robert Plant until he teamed up with Allison Krauss.

I have always LOVED Led Zeppelin, and being a guitar player growing up in the 70’s, we all wanted to be Page or Lifeson.

That said, I was 40 feet away from Jimmy Page on his Outrider tour, and all throughout the performance, he was covered from head to toe with sweat, while the rest of his bandmates were dry as a bone. Jimmy also had a CONSTANT 12 inch bead of drool hanging from his chin: when one fell off, it was immediately replaced by another.

Read into that what you will. Even in my secular state of mind, I got the impression that “something elae” was taking over.

I’d hate to be his guitar tech.

Was he clean at that time or was he still coming down off of heroin at that time? I remember hearing about one of Zeppelin’s American tours after he’d broken his ankle (but should’ve been enough time to heal) he played entire concerts sitting down and hobbled around for months. I think it also mentioned him being bathed in sweat the entire time too.

I know this won’t be popular, but, I say, you go, Mom! I admit I was never that into rock ( except for exceptions with Bruce Springsteen & a few others, I was mostly into that wasteland of 80’s pop stuff). Anyway, as a mom, I wouldn’t be comfortable with my kids listening to a band that had a member like Page. I appreciate that he didn’t write the songs & was a guitarist, but it still disturbs me.

From what KyvivAndrew & Lee M said, he was very obsessed with this Crowley dude. He practiced black magic & might have had something to do with the death of Plant’s son?! Parental red flags go up.

Whether they think they are worshipping satan or not, black magic & the occult are demonic, & I don’t want my kids anywhere near that.
👍👍

Actually it was Page who bought Crowley’s house…

The one that really bugs me is the guilt about Ozzy I have. Ozzy Osbourne, along with Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden, is, IMO, the greatest vocalist ever. I love so many Ozzy tunes, especially the days of Randy Rhodes. Ozzy obviously wasn’t really a Satanist but his covers had upside down crosses and devilish imagery, tunes like “Mr. Crowley” etc. and it was hard to get rid of his CD’s…I love his tunes.

To this day if “Over the Mountain” or “Goodbye to Romance” or some other great Ozzy song comes on the classic rock channel, I savor it! 😛

You’re absolutely right, it is Page, I can’t believe I committed such an amateurish error.

I always liked “Changes” and “Bark at the Moon” is a favorite, but the ones you mentioned are certainly up there with me too.

It’s not amateurish, bro, just a typo. I didn’t mean to make you feel that way! I mistype things myself all the time. I type 90 wpm so it happens! 😛

Does Page still own the place, do you know? Part of me thinks he does, but I’m not sure.

BEATLES for sheer brilliance and versatility is tops. Plus the way Pink Floyd broke up and is still separated makes the Beatles’ breakup look like a small disagreement. IMHO, Floyd had Dark Side and Wish You Were Here and Echoes. Rest downhill. The Wall, apart from Gilmour’s 3 contributions, is simply Gilbert and Sullivan.😉
Pink Floyd without Syd Barrett isn’t Pink Floyd. Everything after “Piper” was downhill.

Oh, and the greatest of all time: Oasis. And Beady Eye is the new Wings. 👍
