What is the principal legacy of Saul Alinsky?

How is it that his legacy has been so triumphant in contemporary America?

Your thoughts?
 
Those who gained power in the US by employing his ideas. How someone can rise from obscurity to the top office in the land, while locking up personal history and possessing no outstanding capabilities. The current election mess. The email disaster. The selling of America. Gaining power and control by any means necessary - vote fraud, subversion of the legal system. It is amoral, and goal oriented.

Alinsky himself said that he would choose to go to hell, as those in it would be his type of people.

That about sums it up! And don’t forget he dedicated one of his books to Lucifer.
I certainly see Lucifer’s work in our country the last 50-60 years as far as decline in
religion, moral values and family life. So I would say Saul has been successful in the destruction he wanted to do to American society.

I would never object to Alinsky’s role in the corruption of American values. But it seems difficult to believe that one person could wreak so much havoc as we have witnessed since the 60s. If it could be said that someone or something pernicious was behind the influence of Alinsky, that the table was laid before Alinsky arrived to serve the poisoned food of immoral and Machiavelian relativism, how did that table get laid?

Alinsky definitely didn’t work alone. he had lots of help.

Thanks for referencing that article. I have already ordered “A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing.”

Maritain was always a man of virtue looking for virtue in others. His friendly correspondence with Alinsky was possibly an attempt to convert him from Lucifer to Jesus.

Doubtful that he succeeded, but with his last breath Alinsky may have relented.

Triumphant how?

From what I know of Alinsky, I think he would say that his legacy is far from triumphant.

I’m sure he would think that, I agree.

But the riots in the streets at the election of Trump would seem to indicate a measure of success in creating a revolt against the Constitution and common sense.

Rules for Radicals is a loathsome book, and is still being read and followed by that devil’s disciples.
