Footballing legend George Best is unlikely to survive another 24 hours, his doctor has said.

Best, 59, could not recover from the internal bleeding that developed in the night, Professor Roger Williams said. “I have to tell you his hours are numbered,” he said at Cromwell Hospital, west London, at 1250 GMT.

Some quantity of irony I suppose, if he dies on the first day of the UK’s more liberal licencing laws.

I’m never quite sure whether I feel sorry for George Best or whether I think he brought it on himself. Of course I’m not old enough to remember him as a great footballer, I just know him as a famous alcoholic.

Well I do remember his old glory days with M.U, he really was a gifted player, but a lot geniuses seem to end up this way.

Yes I’m concerned like you about this 24/7 drinking, then I was thinking well people already drink 24/7 with all the supermarkets selling cheap beer, and people stocking up at home like there was a beer famine.

Unfortunately for some they will only see his skills in the coming days if he does depart this world, as I’m sure the TV will be swamped.
There was a lot of hard feeling by others waiting for a liver as to whether because of his fame did he jump the que.
It seems like he wants his organs donated if he does depart, I prayed for him, and may God be merciful to him if he does eventually depart this world. :gopray2:
