AFL? In the parts of Oz where rugby league is king, we call it ‘aerial ping pong’AFL isn’t for the faint hearted. It was rated top 5 most dangerous sports.

From Constantine the Great onwards they weren’t pagan. The Roman Emperors had no blessing from the Church, they were in fact pagan rulers. Yet, we are told to obey the just authority of the rulers of countries. The early Christians did so, eve to the point of martyrdom, which was unjust.
“Be ye subject, therefore, to every human creature for God’s sake; whether it be to the king as excelling, or to governors as sent by him.” I Peter 2:13
Ooh, them’s fightin’ words!Scoffs at rugby, short necked men who play stacks on

Apart from Julian. From Constantine the Great onwards they weren’t pagan.
I can’t believe anybody would be so idiotic as to ask you this; that’s like asking me if I’ve met Neil Armstrong!I’ve been asked by Americans on ore than one occasion, “Have you met the Queen?” No, of course not - she doesn’t meet people, except in a completely stage-managed way. It’s not like she pops down to her local Tescos to do the shopping!
Well, have you?I can’t believe anybody would be so idiotic as to ask you this; that’s like asking me if I’ve met Neil Armstrong!
I meant the pomp and circumstance. :woman_facepalming:t3:Pup7:![]()
Indeed, to a point it is, and, as you say, nothing wrong with a show of tradition and patriotism. But I think our understanding is that for the Queen it was not just show. That the promises she made before her God were real promises, and that she believes the ceremony conferred on her real responsibilities. To a point it is for show,
No I just don’t travel in the same orbit as him. I met Nancy Reagan once though.Well, have you?
