They are not a RevealedReligion, and they won’t try to make even an unrevealed religion of their own.
Well, no – faith is about ‘I believe’, it wouldn’t make much sense to start a religion of skepticism.
They are already divided on issues; I think they would remain a meme; and working secretly, not having a united and open stance.
Sure, the heathen are divided; the only thing two agnostics will agree on is that they don’t know whether a deity exists. That’s the only qualifier to be one, no law, no doctrines, nothing else.
I don’t think they have enough reasons to be one.
I think you misunderstand the idea: we don’t have enough (or any) reasons to be
religious. Starting from a base of healthy skepticism (which is, oddly enough, a much-loved stance even in many schools of religious philosophy), what is there to convince anyone to sign on?
From the outside, religion looks like
one person telling others that he’s got something special. Maybe he does, but there’s ‘special’ and then there’s ‘obviously not of this world’. I’ve yet to personally see any examples of the latter, and this is a beautiful example of a subject in which someone else’s word just won’t cut it. Let me put my fingers through the hands of Jesus of Nazareth, be visited by Gabriel, or be ridden by a lwa,
then we’ll talk about convincing reasons.
They are so unnatural and unreasonable in not believing in GodAllahYHWH.
Funny, we often find belief in a supposedly-benevolent deity who refuses to show himself because he likes to keep people guessing rather than be honest with his creation a tich unreasonable, and as for unnatural,
we’re not the ones postulating that natural reality is a product of an unnatural, self-subsistent super-reality
They don’t have even the needed support from the physical realm of which they claim to be the unregistered masters; and of the moral and spiritual realms- they know nothing, in my opinion, as these are out of their physical realm and hence out of the scientific method- which they never invented but follow it blindly.
Find me one sane unbelieving person or group who has claimed to be the unchallenged master of the natural realm, to know everything ever to have happened or to happen in the future. The only people I’m aware of who make even anything close to that claim are strongly religious – of the ‘if you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could tell a mountain to uproot itself’ variety. Haven’t seen many mountains flying into the stratosphere lately.
As for the moral realm, nothing’s stopping us from knowing plenty about that. Just because religions have moral codes does not make morality the exclusive domain of religion. The heathen are just as capable of a reasoned study of morality as the faithful – that we may differ on some details (and usually not all that many) does not make us ignorant of morality.
Spiritual realm – why should anyone be concerned with something that has no proven basis in anything other than the imagination, particularly while we’ve got a lot to do in our own?
