I want to find people who truly believe that I want to be among those people I understand that abuse I have felt that more deeply than you can even possibly understand. I don’t want to keep living it over and over.
I totally understand. I don’t view it as rehashing any longer. Like I said, I’m at peace with it, and now to me it’s just facts. Like, the sky is blue. I don’t have that anger any longer.

You remind me that I need to be more cautious and aware of what I’m saying. Which is a good thing.

I apologize for anything I said that made you feel unwelcome. It was not my intent, but if you feel that way, then I hope to make it right.

There is nothing to make right we just all need to be more understanding and interested in hearing each other’s perspectives and really getting to know each other so that we can become God’s people. So we can become one. If we don’t know where on the map each of us are how can we come together as one.

😊 We’re on the same path, therefore on the same map. I think even many Mormons, as individuals, have a genuine desire to walk that same path with us.

Catholics here love our faith and our church and will defend both. The unfortunate thing with Mormonism, is that it’s very foundation is an attack on Catholicism. It’s easy to get caught up in theological discussions and lose sight of the person. Particularly on the internet, where there is no person to see.

God bless you on your journey.

I can’t blame them when other perspectives are so vigorously opposed especially in the early Catholic Church so much so that they killed people who had them. (See Giordano Bruno) and after today when my perspective was shut down before I could even fully share it. What is a person to do. Where can a person feel safe trying to find God.

I think you might be overstating, by comparing yourself to Giordano Bruno.

I’d say, asking the Catholic position on topics might go a long ways towards a view that you’re not here to attack Catholicism. 😃

I am trying to find a safe home. That is all. I am not attacking the Catholic Church anymore than you claim you are not doing that to the Mormon church. I am just stating facts and a perspective. If we can not openly share than we will never be one.

You seem to have a litany of wrongs the Catholic Church has done. There is no Catholic here who believes that every action of every Pope or Bishop was the right choice. We condemn sin and wrongdoing as much as non-Catholics. What we don’t believe, is that the sins of our clergy chases Jesus away from HIS Church. We hold no belief that Jesus abandons us in our sins. The Cross, is our evidence for our belief. He died for us while we were still sinners.

That is the foundation of Mormonism, a teaching that the sins of some will cause Jesus to abandon us. It is a sad, sad, POV, in my estimation.

I don’t have a problem at all with the Catholic Church and its history I have just used it as a comparison that no church as an institution is free of the stain of sexual sin or of claiming authority from God to do terrible things I did not bring them up or even mean to suggest them until I was told repeatedly that I was trying to trick you or that I needed to stop telling my perspective and get inline with the Catholic perspective. I have absolutely no beef with the Catholic Church if I did why would I be seeking membership with them. Once again you miss judge me. My only purpose for coming on here today was to say I have found peace with the history of the Mormon church and this is how that is why I am in this forum and not a talk about Catholics forum

I say you fit in just fine!

I due have an honest question I want answered from a catholic perspective and this is probably the wrong forum to ask. Does Jesus still have a physical body?

What other Mormon teachings can I carry over into my catholic life. I know that is a very broad question.

Maybe it would be helpful if you listed what I can’t and see if I have those beliefs

Like a reverse temple recommend interview that could be fun

So let’s change the word worship to praise teach me what the difference is? Oh you are pointing to praise to the man yea I don’t like that song is that something Joseph had commissioned?
The title of this thread is Let’s talk about Mormonism and the BOM is part of Mormonism. Praise to the man is an LDS song and the LDS church is a part of Mormonism. I’ve tried not to be LDS specific in my posts. (I’m still officially a member of the temple lot group. I agree with you on the song. According to wiki it was written 1 month after JS was killed.
