Basically the same thing. The person next in line steps up to the plate and takes over. (The Mormons on Amazon didn’t like us putting it so bluntly.)

Amazon used to have a discussion forum. There were threads there started by Mormons. Amazon’s discussions are now history. They closed all the forums in October.

Can’t remember if I responded to this thread or not.

Want to see the most lucid, understanable explanation of Mormonism ever made?

Watch the South Park episode “All About Mormons” on HULU.

Aside from their occasional crude language, I have not seen a better explanation.

I have seen it, and I also know enough about it to know that the guy that voiced the Mormon, happens to be Mormon. That being said, I think the fictional Mormon family on South Park was a little less pushy than most of the Mormons I’ve met. I don’t really watch South Park anymore, but I do know the episode.

I’m not sure what the account of it is nowadays, but you can find Art actually made by Mormons, that depicts just that

Well how did they put it?
Don’t ask. The exchange was not a pleasant one. They were very hostile, accusatory and rude whenever anyone on the “outside” confronted them with the truth about their church, its teachings and its leaders especially when the truth was shown using their own materials (their books, their websites, their own posts).

Yep. And ironically, those are the places they recommend we go to for the truth.

I think that Mormons would make Journal of Discourses and History of the Church dissappear if they could.

Once they realize they can no longer suppress the truth they make gestures like this to pretend they have nothing to hide.

I think a good example of that, would be which version of the first vision is used in Mormon literature. Fred Sands, I know the LDS church has an official ones, but how do they reconcile that with the other ones?

FAIR apologists make feeble attempts to explain it. They will make excuses like saying that the different versions don’t contradict each other, but rather, they add to the full picture.

I’m still trying to figure out how in one story he was 14 years old and another he was 15 years old is not a contradiction. But I guess that’s the Mormon spin.

I said for instance, why my phone turned that into Fred Sands is beyond me. I’m not going back and editing it, because I think it’s kind of funny.

I have two - Who created the universe and where is this planet Kolob that God lives on. Does he live on this planet all by himself?I also see that the LDS claim Joseph Smith is a blood decedent of Christ as do some leaders of the LDS Church. Satan is also Jesus brother???

When I look at it as a Catholic the whole idea seems ridiculous .

That sounds suspiciously similar to the people that claim to be descendants of Muhammad in Islamic countries to try to claim power.

According to LDS the universe was not created but rather it was organized from existing elements by Jehovah and Michael (Adam). God does not live on Kolob. Kolob is the star nearest the planet where God lives. I suppose he lives there with his family but that gets into the mysteries. I’ve never heard that Joseph Smith is a descendent of Jesus. Jesus and Satan are spirit brothers.

Maybe you already answered this, but what’s the deal with that heavenly mother I think?
