That number is distributed all around the world and the government and media are secular.
I really don’t see what point you’re trying to make here. You’ll find plenty of CAF posters who complain all day about the normalization of homosexuality but throw in a news report about removing prayer from public schools and suddenly they’re so proud to be crazy enough to believe in a God they don’t see. 🤷
The sun dancing in the sky sounds like a lie a child made up yet secular newspapers printed it in Fatima.
And? Did these people treat it as something normal? “Hello! We’re here in Portugal after seeing the sun dance like crazy while everyone ran around screaming it was the end of the world! Seems like another day in Fatima! Back to you Bill!”

My point was the secular government and media have a lot of influence on the people and they are very anti-Catholic. That’s why there are complaints.

As for Fatima,It was a miracle. Even people who came to make fun of the three children were converted.

Yet religious people complain about mass departure from the faith, increasing secularization, atheism in schools, and (as this thread goes on) normalization of homosexual relationships.

They’re the ones crying persecution and marginalization from the big, secular bogeyman.

Seems legit.

P.S.

No matter how you slice it, believing in things like people coming back from the dead, multiplying food, water into wine etc… does that sound like a sane, normal person by today’s oh-so-evil secular standards?
You do make a point, we should know how to make our faith believable to the secular world. And not because it’s a problem now, Saints of ages past had to contend with pagans disregarding the Good News as impossible and crazy insurrection. We need to remember that to the uninitiated, we sound crazy. That’s kinda why The Ressurection made such an impact: it WAS crazy. No one can just come back to life of their own accord, and no one would be so willing to die for something that bizzare. Christianity stood out as different, as something that couldn’t be from this world as indeed, Christ isn’t of this world but the one yet to come. That difference made people think twice “perhaps these ‘Christians’ are on to something.” And once thinking that, they learned what we believe and heard the call of the Paraclete in their hearts, and they were baptized into the Church.

The Church teaches that sodomy is a sin that cries out to heaven for vengeance, that’s it’s worse than fornication, adultery, and other sins. I don’t know what it teaches if rape is worse or not.
Rape outrages me. It is the ultimate forcing on a woman or girl, the ultimate violation. I feel it should be the worst sin of all. As for these delicate issues, I feel those who are called “intolerant” are unfairly called so. We are tolerant. We just have a right to only be tolerant, and not have to say we think something is just wonderful and praise it when it goes against our moral beliefs.

I agree with this quote. Unfortunately, I feel the world is just too far gone. It’s too late, and it will never happen. It seems there is more fear of “offending” the secular world rather than God. I, personally, think this world is awful. It’s disgusting and sex-obsessed and thinks it can justify murder, to be brutally honest. It is my personal belief that this world cares nothing about God. I know it may sound unfair to say, but it seems there is more evil than good, and so far the evil seems to be winning over. I’m not the kind to get into arguments with anyone, because we all have a right to believe our own side, so I wouldn’t even try. One person has just as much right to agree or disagree as the next person does. We just need to agree to disagree, as the saying goes.

You know how you can kill someone if it’s for self defense? I heard that can apply to a woman if that’s the only way she can defend herself from being raped. Rape is probably worse.

I definitely believe a woman would have a right to kill, or at least harm, her attacker. Self-defense could never be wrong, I wouldn’t think, even in the eyes of the Church. I would hope not.

I read it in a Catholic moral theology book so I assume that’s the Church’s view on that.

To the Op there are a lot of people in this world who believe if something exists we must accept it without doing anything about it.

However, Christ has a different plan and He and the disciples weren’t put to death because they accepted everything that people did, on the contrary.

Stop living under a rock. Your skin might become a sickly pale color.

You got a point with being “too far gone” but you then lose everything when you do say this:

What does the “right” have to do with anything? You should’ve stopped with “So I wouldn’t even try” because what follows after is laying down on the ground and letting the tank run over you.

…and Maria Goretti is a patron saint for purity because she died fighting off her rapist. I believe she is worthy of being a saint, but it’s a pretty messed up message.

A woman could only kill her rapist if that is the only way to escape being raped. If fighting off her attack is enough she can’t kill him.

?? What are you talking about? Are you serious? If any woman/man is attacked and about to be raped, they have every right to use deadly force to prevent that attack/rape.

If you are fighting for your life after being attacked/kidnapped, there are no rules about your defense.

You can only kill someone in self defense if it’s necessary. If she can find away to not be raped and the attacker survives then she has to take that route. If killing him is the only way she escape being raped, there are no other options, she can kill him.

And so? Does this normalize the crazy ideas that crop out from having any sort of religious faith? Need I also remind you the plenty of secular ideas were considered blasphemous, treasonous, and every sort of adjective used to describe deviancy?

Your post indicated that being gay isn’t ‘normal.’ Sadly for you, there’s nothing ‘normal’ about having belief in angels, walking on water, and believing the Eucharist wafer is literally the Body of Christ.

One man’s normal is another man’s nut. I’ve always noticed that so many Catholics set themselves up for this glaring tu quoque trap when arguing homosexuality.

Just thought you oughta know. 😉 Might wanna lead with something else next time.

So? Is it normal? No. It’s crazy talk, true or not.

My point is that people who argue that something is wrong because it’s not ‘normal’ are wasting their time and setting themselves as bigots. Back then, paganism was the rule and Christianity sought to deviate from that norm. It developed a persecution complex and many a martyr reveled in being outcast.

Now Christianity’s the norm after which it began institutionalized marginalization of homosexuals, non-Christians, and (at some point of history) even other races! I fail to see how Christians are in any position to declare anything ‘normal’ when they have just as much crazy premises about life, God, and human dignity as the world outside it.

One of these days you are going to be my best evidence of why CAF forum rules on charity are only neutral on paper and one-sided in practice.

Homosexual actions are wrong because they are immoral not because they aren’t “normal.”

Yes, rape victims have so many options to consider while they are being attacked the mind boggles. It’s a good thing that not all victims freeze in terror and some can actually weigh the options of killing as self-defense or flailing and hope the assailant gets pooped and has to take a breather.

I believe it’s “no reasonable other options,” not “no other options.”

Exactly right. Everyone will just agree to disagree and just not do anything together, or let the tank run over you because that would be OK for some people
