Ever taken medicine? We don’t get to choose our biology
What makes a woman a woman? What is the definitive quality that makes one a woman (or man)?If you were born female, that’s what you are, right down to your DNA.
Does it take everyone out of their comfort zone? So making others uncomfortable, even unintentionally is hatred? It is. Especially when it takes you out of your comfort zone.
Can you provide instances where a company has been successfully sued in a situation like in this topic? Or do you have any other grounds for that claim? Not implementing transgender friendly HR policies risks a lawsuit in today’s day and age.
But that is not the issue at my workplace, and irrelevant to the topic. That is another thread altogether. The principle might be the same, but another topic. The principle is, speak the truth, and be true to your beliefs, is that what you are arguing against?Perhaps a more accurate comparison would be acknowledging Sue’s current (second or third) husband as her spouse, rather than insisting her ex-husband is her valid spouse, because of your religious belief that it is so.
Our genetic makeup doesn’t change.Ever taken medicine?
It is not one factor alone, but your sex is determined by chromosomes, and other genetic qualities, size and shape of bone structure, and other forensic characteristics. What makes a woman a woman? What is the definitive quality that makes one a woman (or man)?
You’ve noticed the emperor has no clothes. But corporations, like the state, are all about coercing people to do things they’d otherwise not do. If you don’t want to make it policy to have to call people by the pronoun they choose then you’re only holding off the inevitable. If someone wanted to be called King of the world when they weren’t,you probably wouldn’t oblige, but if someone had misidentified their own gender, you would have to play along. That is what gets me, and I guess makes my conscience rub when I am tasked with this.
No. It doesn’t take me out of my comfort zone at all.Does it take everyone out of their comfort zone? So making others uncomfortable, even unintentionally is hatred?
Right. Who said it was? My statement pertained to my belief that when you make a sacrafice and go out of your comfort zone, it can be very loving. Not that it is always loving. And not that the discomfort you suffer is loving. Puting someone else’s needs above your own, though, usually is a loving thing to do. That is all. Then that means that’s not a good standard for determining whether something is good or not.
