Like I said whether it is OK or not is decided by two things - is it legal? For which we have laws and state and federal departments to enforce them. In this case no charges have been filed and I doubt if any will be.

The second thing - is it immoral in the eyes of God? I think that issue will be decided soon when the Christ returns. You can then ask him this very question.

All I can say is that the amounts involved were relatively small, not a real money making business for an organization which essentially caters to poor women who can not afford these services from a regular hospital. People like me and you (presumably you are middle class) do not need Planned Parenthood.
  1. The amounts are not relatively small. We’re talking about tens of millions of dollars a year
  2. One shouldn’t need a deity to point out to them the killing babies and selling them off is wrong.

Don’t you think shutting down Planned Parenthood will make life very difficult for poor women who want to terminate a pregnancy? For many that is the only choice they have.
I hope so.
I don’t know of any quote from the Christ that talks about abortion (that does not mean anyone outside the womb) or even from the rest of the Bible.
So as long as one thinks Christ did not specifically prohibit it anything goes?

As I said this is divisive issue which is not possible to resolve. There are arguments on both sides. I obviously disagree with you.

Luckily for both of us, the Christ will be returning soon and he will settle this issue for us. Just don’t count on him agreeing with you a 100%.

It also must be lawful and generally accepted the world over (a determination by the UN is also helpful).

That’s the second time you said that.
You know something about the return of Christ the rest of us unwashed do not?

And from a Hindu at that. I think it’s to remember that old Internet axiom of “if you don’t feed them they will go away”

A slayer of an embryo is like the slayer of a priest.
— Krishna Yajur Veda 6.5.10
Slaying of a fetus is illegal in all countries today too. That is not the same as voluntary termination of a pregnancy.

I thought many people expect the Return of the Christ soon (there is thread about this somewhere on the forum), I am no different.

I am sure it will happen in the next couple of years, probably sooner. When the Christ returns, such questions like when abortions are OK, will then be settled. Before that we just need to go by the law of the land.

I don’t think any Hindu text refers to abortion and neither does the Bible,
God’s word does indeed give a logical argument against “abortion.” Abortion is the killing of an unborn human baby.

God’s word says not to murder.
Killing an unborn human baby is murder (premeditated ending of human life).
Therefore God’s word says not to kill an unborn baby.

You seem to be equating a country’s laws to morality; they are not synonymous. I live in a representative republic, the USA. Here we have a say in our laws, that is the legal set of laws devised by man. If we find a law to be reprehensible or illogical we are allowed to attempt to change those laws. Here murder is illegal. Somewhere along the line the illogical idea that an unborn human baby is not a living human cropped up. It’s time to rectify that illogical and immoral line of thought.

And in the Old Testament:

“For three transgressions of the Ammonites,
and for four, I will not revoke the punishment;[h]
because they have ripped up women with child in Gilead

Amos 1

To be quite honest it appears you do not know a lot about either Hinduism or Christianity

Is that supposed to be funny? Slaying anybody’s fetus is definitely against the law.

You can try doing ti and see what happens to you.
Happens about 350,000 times a year at Planned Parenthood and nobodies went to jail yet . Of course I know you believe that this is mitigated by the fact that after they killing the children you dint believe don’t make a whole lot of money selling their body parts

In reference to those “other services” provided by PP-this list was published on Mark Shea’s blog today:

Planned Parenthood DOES NOT provide:

-Mammograms
-Prenatal Care
-Breast Biopsies
-Breast Cancer Diagnostic Care
-Primary Health Care
-Diabetes Treatment
-Treatment for Elevated Cholesterol
-Treatment for Elevated Blood Pressure
-Holistic Medicine
-Obstetrical Care
-Pediatric Care
-Care for HIV Positive Individuals
-Infertility Treatments
-Natural Family Planning Instruction
-Care for Uterine Fibroids
-Treatment for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
-Adoption Placement
-Prostate Exams
-Uterine Laser Ablation
-Cervical Laser Ablation
-Miscarriage Management
-Bladder Disorders and Urinary Problems
-Prolapsed Pelvic Floor Concerns
-Laparoscopic Procedures
-Hysterectomy
-Treatment of Endometriosis
-Polyp Removal
-Endometrial Ablation
-BRCA Testing
-Bone Density Testing
-Treatment of Pelvic Pain
-Treatment of Vulvar Pain
-Molar Pregnancy Follow Up

Planned Parenthood DOES provide:

-First and Second Trimester Abortions
-Limited STD testing and treatment
-Pap Smears for Women in Child Bearing Years
-Limited Contraceptive Methods
And, I might add, $47 Pregnancy tests

I think most people have heard the line about “women’s health services” for so long, they really believe this is some sort of charity organization!
To be fair, they do also provide breast cancer screenings. They’re just the same kind you could do yourself if you have two hands and an idea of what you’re feeling for.

In the state of Colorado a woman was cut open and her “fetus” was killed. The woman who did it is being charged with attempted murder, but there are no charges for killing the child because Colorado law doesn’t consider it a life unless it can be proven the child took a breath outside the womb.

What were you saying about it being illegal everywhere?
