Healthcare: In my state, Medicaid for Pregnant Women is available for women who make up to 200% of poverty level. Not available to undocumented women.
Housing: 3+ year wait list in my county for HUD programs
Food: If you have more than $2,000 in “countable resources” like a savings account, you do not qualify. If your gross income is more than
$1,245 you do not qualify. Also, not available to undocumented women. WIC is additional, has limits.
Clothing: There are various thrift stores, but, no program that gives away maternity clothes.
Cell Phone: Only if you qualify for SNAP.
Other Utilities: The government assistance will help once per year. One month. Must be documented, etc.
Mental Health Counseling: Varies by county/state
Support groups/parenting classes/breastfeeding support: Private programs.
College tuition assistance: Not in my state
Transportation: No programs in my state
Childcare: Voucher system, first come first served, low income only and must be documented.
