Can anyone deny the validity and factual truth of music theory?

Of course not, they would be laughed out of a concert hall.

A scientific theory is comprised of facts and observations that prove correct the the theory.

The law of gravity states that an object will fall, the theory of gravity explains why it falls.

The theory of gravity is a fact.

Music theory is a fact.

Atomic theory is a fact.

Germ theory is a fact.

Evolutionary theory is a fact.

Do you so vehemently oppose music theory as well?

I suppose, with Atomic theory, not being a fact, and just a theory. The scientists must be lucky that nuclear reactors aren’t exploding every other week and nuclear bombs aren’t blowing up.

I can see that your mind is entrenched against learning anything more about the theory of evolution, other than a PBS documentary and a course on Darwinism you took 20 years ago.

That’s kind of sad. 😦

Doubtless people managed to get by somehow. They must have done so, or else we would not be here to consider the question. However, I’m not sure that your objection is fatal to what people mean. :cool:​

Phantasm,

I accept that natural selection takes place in nature, but reducing everything to chance and randomness, as opposed to letting God enter into the equation is another thing. I understand a certain degree of randomness exists in nature, but to say a species so sophisticated as ours could have been created purely by chance is I think more far fetched than believing in the moving Spirit of God designing creation and guiding our lives through the evolution of time.

Science cannot prove anything. It can only provide data. Theory is not always fact. I would give you an example, but I don’t have time at the moment. Music, gravity, etc. - these are logical theories supported by centuries of data. Evolution, on the other hand, I do not find very logical. While I’ll admit I’m not the brightest girl on the site, I’m not the only one who believes like this. There are many brilliant scientists who don’t accept the theory of evolution either. But, if you think I’m wrong, which you obviously do, educate me. Tell me of all this evidence you keep mentioning.

You won’t believe one of the most thoroughly tested and researched theories in existence and one that has an absolute mountain of corroborating evidence behind this theory, yet you will believe, without any evidence, that theory of evolution is not logical.

You’ll also believe, without any evidence, and on faith alone, that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that a piece of bread can turn into the flesh of the son of God. 🤷

Could you please explain why you believe that Atomic theory is a logical theory and then please explain why germ theory is logical.

Lastly, could you please explain why it is necessary for a scientific theory to appear, to your uneducated mind, logical, so that you accept it as fact.

To say that a being as powerful as God had no beginning and has always existed, is far more far fetched than believing that the universe created itself purely by chance and through natural means.

Because she’s intelligent and uses her common sense. If things don’t jibe with her knowledge, she is quite right and reasonable in doing what she is doing: questioning and seeking resolution between what she already knows and what she is is presented with. She’s one of the bright kids who won’t accept anything as profligate at certain theories of evolution without proof and understanding them enough. A noble thing in my book.

Please, apply common sense to Quantum Mechanics, astrophysics, the theory of relativity, germ theory and of course, Atomic theory and then tell me how common sense allows you all to accept them as facts.

We all know, Science has to pass the common sense test of average Americans with limited education in order for that science to be proven correct.
