In The Letter to the Hebrews, Chapter 1 Verses 10-12 states:
and the heavens are the works of your hands.
They will perish, but you remain; and they will grow old like a garment.
You will roll them up like a cloak, and like a garment they will be changed.

Please explain about being like a garment.

Well, when a garment is no longer needed or usable we simply throw it off our bodies.

The psalmist seems to be stating that the physical cosmos will be “thrown off” in this manner at some point.

We will all experience the resurrection:
“Your dead will rise, their bodies will live,
awake, you who sleep in the dust arise
and sing for joy. Your dew will be like the
dew of the morning, the earth will give
birth to her dead.”!! (Is. 26:19)
Some will arise to the resurrection of the
just, some to the resurrection of condem-
nation. Acts 24:15

Both Isaiah and Peter spoke of “new heavens and a new earth.” From the Haydock Commentary on Hebrews 1:10 and following:
“Ver. 10, &c. And again: thou in the beginning, O Lord, hast founded the earth, &c. The text, as well as the authority of interpreters, shew these words to be still spoken of the Son of God, of Christ, who was both true God and man. And though part of Psalm ci., from which these words are taken, contain a prayer to God for the restoring of the city of Jerusalem, yet in this psalm is chiefly signified the glory of Christ, and of his Church, which will be spread over all nations. See St. Chrysostom, Estius, Cornelius a Lapide, &c. — As a vesture shalt thou change them, &c. The apostle, in the second verse of this chapter, had said that the world was made by the Son of God: now he tells us that all created things shall wax old like a garment, shall decay and perish, (at least from their present state and condition) shall be changed; but thou, who art both God and man, art always the same, without decay or change. (Witham) — The apostle here applies the work of the creation to the Son of God, and thus furnishes a clear and striking proof of his divinity, against the Unitarians. To elude this proof, some of them pretend that these verses have been fraudulently added; but they are found in all the Greek copies, and in all ancient versions of this epistle. Others try to give forced interpretations to these verses, but the words are convincingly clear to all who do not purposely shut their eyes.”
Even more interesting to me is Peter’s prophecy of the earth and elements melting in fire. 2 Peter 3:10-13
“But the day of the Lord shall come as a thief, in which the heavens shall pass away with great violence, and the elements shall be melted with heat, and the earth, and the works that are in it, shall be burnt up. Seeing then that all these things are to be dissolved, what manner of people ought you to be in holy conversation and godliness, Expecting, and hastening unto the coming of the day of the Lord, by which the burning heavens shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with the heat of fire? But we look for new heavens and a new earth according to his promise, in which justice dwelleth.”
There is a theory of the “heat death” of the universe, which is based on thermodynamic principles.

Hi!

The Universe/Creation is like a dress/suit (garment/cloak) and Jesus, the Eternal God, the Creator of everything that exists, would make changes (remember, everything was Created by Him and for Him) as the various Revelations (Scriptural) and thousands of revelations (temporal laws, discoveries, and creations) needed for the Universe to be maintained by His Will will demonstrate as He enacts the changes (which, since God Created but Once, really means that they will unfold)… everything in the Created Universe can/will change… only God Remains Unchanging (Eternal).

Maran atha!

In Ephesians 1:22, Christ will be Head
over everything in heaven and on earth,
He will PUT ON the Church His Body
the Glorified Garment, otherwise known
as the New Jerusalem, the Bride and
the Old earth and heavens will be dis-
carded like an Old garment.
