Talk about Americans taking the great gift of freedom of religion for granted. I was totally unaware that needing to apply for a national identification card that signifies your religion?? Bizarre. More reasons to pray for this woman. Too bad she couldn’t apply for assylum in a neighboring country.
The article doesn’t specifically mention it, but the reason she must hide her identity is that under certain “interpretations” of Islamic law she can be stoned for her attempt to renounce Islam.
