Thanks. I can never keep the volume numbers straight!Book 1: Advent/Christmas.
Book 2: Lent/Easter.
Book 3: Ordinary Time weeks 1 to 17. (We are currently in week 14 so THIS is the book you should be in.)
Book 4: Ordinary Time weeks 18-34.
God bless!
Don’t be put off by the dorky humor in DODOS. It is THE clearest walk-through the system out there. Thanks for all of your help!
July 11th is my birthday YIPPEEE! I’m a novice Benedictine Oblate with Pluscarden Abbey here in Scotland so tomorrow will be an extra speical day ~ only I can’t get to the Abbey, sadly.
I have the Divine Office For Dodos!!! It’s a great book but I do wish that she wouldn’t talk so dummy-ummy at the reader. That’s my only gripe hahaha! Other then that it’s a fantastic book and I’m slowly working my way through.
Thanks again!!!
Michelle
Also make sure you pick up the one for the current year. I made that mistake once. In January I picked up 3 copies, 1 for me and 2 to give to others. 2 of the copies were from the previous year :blushing: I guess I only looked close at the one copy and assumed the ones behind it were the same.Make sure you get the one that says Liturgy of the Hours, NOT the one that says Christian Prayer, Liturgy of the Hours. The Christian Prayer one is for the one-volume prayer book.
I don’t know if this is different in the US from the UK, but the St. Joseph Guide for the LOH has it different than you state for Morning Prayer:Like in Morning Prayer instead of going to Friday week 2 for the invitatory and canticles etc. it was July 11 St. Benedict for the invitatory, Sunday morning week 1 for the 3 psalms and canticles, common of holy men for the intercessions, the regular week day for the Canticle of Zechariah (but St. Benedict for the antiphon for said canticle) etc.
