If priests would only preach on the “real truth” of the faith it would be refreshing. I have listened to more than my share of relativism from the pulpit. During a few of them it was all I could do to stay seated and not to bolt out of church and look for another Mass to attend. It is sad that in my diocese if you have talked to the Pastor about something that is off the mark, and happen to take it then to the Bishop, the Bishop contacts the Pastor, and YOU are the one that is castigated. If you go in a group, the entire group pays the price. 😦 Really sad.

Greetings Teelynn,

I agree, a lot of Catholics hunger for the truth. We should not liven the homilies up with scandal but solid truth.

If only more Catholics would stand up and ask for the Truth and confront their priests, but I realize that this is a hard thing to do.

I am blessed that the priest that I listen to his homilies he is very traditional and very online and agrees with everything that the Magisterium of the Catholic Church teaches. I am getting tired of this modernity in the Church today. We need to go back to our roots and quit trying to water down Catholicism.

I should get off my soapbox, sorry.

God Bless.

Hi Anathama,

Yes, at least some at our Parish in the recent past have tried to correct wrong teaching from the pulpit, but I keep in mind one important point…God doesn’t expect we will always be successful…what He really expects is our FAITHFULNESS! As long as lay people are trying to confront blatant heresy, (key word her…BLATANT) I think we get an A for effort. Not much more we can do other than pray and remain faithful.
Thank the Good Lord for other SOLID Catholic material…online, radio and TV. It is really a Blessing! For me personally it has opened my eyes.

Keep on prayin!

Greetings Teelynn,

Yes please by all means continue praying as well. Prayer and confronting BLATANT heresy that’s what we can do. I am too thankful for the resources outside of the Modernism that is creeping in the Church today.

God Bless.
