On the contrary, I feel as though life is God, and all his many aspects (Id est. birth, death, and everything in between) are things which ought to be experienced, as well as enjoyed in temperance. After all, we have learned from the hedonists that over-indulgence isn’t without it’s consequences.
Sin has it consequences too.

I actually consider myself a pretty stable person. My parents have always told me that masturbation is a normal activity in the life of an adolescent boy. I don’t see why you think my driving would be any less exceptional than a boy who “holds it in”. I ask myself myself if I wan’t to reduce my risk of prostate cancer, and I think my answer is fairly responsible. I also have identified for years as being homosexual (I have written a couple threads on this forum about that), sex is out of the question for me, so then it’s understandable when I say that I want to enjoy it while I can.

To the person on this thread that said homosexuality is a result of masturbation, I say that is nonsense. I have been attracted to members of my own sex (5 or 6, playing little league football) long before I started masturbating (around 11, or maybe 12). There can be no question as to the semantics of that.

According to the Church, I have SSA (which is intrinsically disordered), and must live alone for the rest of my life. I don’t suppose thats a problem for men who come home to their wifes for sex every week.
I certainly don’t find it very romantic to be seen as a tool my husband uses to scratch an ich. The desire to engage in the marital embrace is completely different than the drive to masturbate. That’s why usually men who are greatly enslaved to masturbate and especially to pornography, still masturbate and look at pornography in marriage.

To be chaste in a marriage (which is required of all couples and is not the same thing as abstainence) puts individuals through the same struggles they have when they are single. I’d say the big difference is that if a couple is going through a period of abstainence, living together and all the things that come with married life can become an occassion of sin. However that is completely different than living as a single person and struggling with it.

If homosexuality is rooted in childhood development, and I think I can say that my parents raised me in a similar manner as they did my siblings, then why is it I am disordered and they are not?

When I spoke of homosexuality as not being a vocation, I was speaking with skepticism. I have been told by others on this forum (Kolbe300 among many) that homosexuality is infact a vocation. I don’t believe in a “vocation” either way, but all the same I don’t understand why I have been told this by so many. Especially on the morality sub forum.

“Why did you take such great pains to hide yourself, sir?”

I’m a cynic and a skeptic and worse. But how many 15 year olds are SO into this subject, let alone feel very confirmed and definite (as this person does) about his or her sexuality.

My take on this is that “society”/“media”/“authority figures” have been preaching for perhaps the past ten years or so about how VITAL it is for children and younger young adults to proclaim their sexuality.

How might this be a good thing? At 15 (if you should in fact be this age), please catch your breath, relax, and let yourself grow up a bit more before you convince yourself of anything.

Reminds me of the classic Psych 101 deal, in which a freshman convinces himself that his roommate has all the characteristics of abnormal mental health!

I am 15, will be 16 in may actually. I haven’t convinced myself anything, all I have done is look at my past experiences and my present crush (a guy my age) and discerned that I’m gay. There was no decision on my part; it’s a very impossible buisness, picking and choosing who your attracted to.

I can’t think of a girl as anything else other than a friend. It’s not really possible for me to “catch my breath”, when I get fire and brimstone **** at my school. I cannot change who I am, I have made no conscious decision as to my sexuality. I’ve just been myself the past few years and this has progressed.

Telling my parents is out of the question; if they knew they would probably disown me.

I’m just curious why you would doubt my age. What reason would I have to lie about my age? I came to this forum so that I could get an honest response to my honest question.

I understand your point but I think you are misrepresenting the nature of marriage and sexual desire. Unless you are attempting NFP, a married couple that is having sex when they desire it soon going to be blessed with a family. Even when circumstances require temporary abstinance, that is eaiser for a limited period of time than in perpetutity.

All this is, I suspect, as it should be. Sexual desire, when properly directed, leads to big Catholic families.
Yes, and actually small children can tamp down desire for a while because they tire you out. Sometimes sleep takes precedence over love-making. 😃
