To begin, I will first answer that we were not there to see whether or not Jesus was magic. There is simply no empirical evidence that substantiates miracles. Secondly, were Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism or Wikka (sp?) to justify their existence through magic, we would have to conclude that they were engaging in superstition. Furthermore, in a more dangerous sense, when I contemplate the Muslim promise of virgins to martyrs, I simply shudder. We are better than that. The difference between us and them is simple: We are commanded to:What would you propose for alternative methods of divine authentication?
[27] "…Love [our] enemies, do good to those who hate [us], [28] bless those who curse [us], pray for those who mistreat [us]. [29] If someone strikes [us] on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes [our] cloak, do not stop him from taking [our]tunic. [30] Give to everyone who asks [us], and if anyone takes what belongs to [us], do not demand it back. [31] Do to others as [we] would have them do to [us].
[For,]
[32] "If [we] love those who love [us], what credit is that to [us]? Even ‘sinners’ love those who love them. [33] And if [we] do good to those who are good to [us], what credit is that to [us]? Even ‘sinners’ do that. [34] And if [we] lend to those from whom [we] expect repayment, what credit is that to [us]? Even ‘sinners’ lend to ‘sinners,’ expecting to be repaid in full. [35] But love [our] enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then [our] reward will be great, and [we] will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. [36] Be merciful, just as [our] Father is merciful. [Luke 6:27-36 with a slight change of pronouns]
This is what separates us, and this is more than enough. Show me this message in the Koran, the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Vedas, Torah, Talmud or other sacred documents.
I will reassert, it is this which separates us and nothing more.
