BBC: “Police confirmed they had been called to Warren Street, Oval and Shepherd’s Bush stations.” A passenger saw a rucksack exploding and the carrier of the rucksack being very agitated and saying something, but no one being hurt. A bus was also involved.

I don’t have any more details at this time.

One person injured on the bus. No real information as to what is happening. Westminister tube is now closed as well. Woman on tube saw a man running away from the train. Woman on bus saw an agitated man, who was wearing a ruck sack, the ruck sack exploded. Police not treating incidents as serious, but evacuating certain tube stations. Police investigating three tube incidents

Pray!

God Bless us all

Armed Police cordoned off hospital as suspect terrorist presumed to have gone there injured. Police investigating in chemical suits as a precaution, bad smell smelt on tube. Police moving people back from cordons arund all incident areas. Now news state this is a serious incident.

Sheesh. Does anyone have an opinion as to the logic of this second attack? I couldn’t think of a more counterproductive followup to the first attack, myself. While the first attack might frighten me, the second would only enrage me. Do these terrorists not remember the Battle of Britain?

Oh my God have mercy, so many incidents are taking place all at once, a man has been arrested outside whitehall at Downing Street outside the ministry of defense building and armed police have surrounded him and arrested him and taken him into a government building, no further details, this is so frightening, please pray people everywhere please pray for my country! Camera crews at Downing Street have been asked to turn off their cameras and move away from the scene

This is horror. I am so sad, this is terror, this is the face of evil and i hate it.

Lord Have Mercy on everyone’s souls

I don’t think they would know or understand (BofB), they are set on on a single truth in their minds, but as my priest said in a homily today (paraphasing) If you focus on one single truth (ie one cause) but forget about the whole truth (Jesus) then that single truth will lead you away and down the wrong path then if you focus on Him.

I will go up to the Rosary thread that was started with the last attacks. Be at peace.

Thank you. The British people will not be terrorised, we stand firm in the freedom of humanity and no dictation of terror will alter that.

I am sad and angry at the same time, we must forgive these people and pray for them, they are brainwashed into making deluded acts of terror that achieve nothing but bloodshed and show themselves to be what they are, fanatics who have perverted a peaceful religion of Islam and turned it into a vechile for violence and oppression.

They have no future. There is no future in evil.

Prime Minister is due to give a statement to the Country. The details of the attacks are very sketchy and no-one knows exactly what is happening. The weapons used appear to be conventional and do not indicate presently as weapons containing chemicals or biological agents.

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

That’s the spirit, my darling. Take courage.

By the way, it seems the detonators went off but the explosives connected to them did not. Not confirmed yet, but there does not seem to be the same degree of damage as two weeks ago.

A CNN commentator opined that the aim of this particular bunch of terrorists was to prove that, even with heightened security, they could still get through. Well they didn’t get through. The Brits nailed them.

The terrorists are desperate. We are not. Tea?

🙂 Tea, two sugars and a slice of cake please.

There are lots of theories flying about, but nothing is confirmed yet. Forensics are investigating and the areas affected are widely cordoned off. There are few casualities but no exact numbers given. The Hospital situation has been brought under control, but no further information given as to what happened.

Two people so far have been detained and Police are looking for an unknown number of fugitives.

The Government is retaining a sense of calm in the Capitol City and information is not forth-coming in all of the incidents. The Capitol is returning to normal, although some stations and Downing Street remain cordoned off and closed, although people are being urged not to travel into London.

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Security alert at St Albans and this station is now closed. No further information.

News conferance from the Police due in an hours time.

I don’t think we know everything; indeed, I don’t think the Police know everything yet either. Incidents happening very fast but 2/3 arrests so far and ‘hot pursuit’ of several others.

May be coincidence but at about the same time as the first explosion the BT Server went down fast and quick - was in middle of posting something as it goes, I think its lost (the post I mean). Only just managed to get a connection again, at 4;20PM London Time. Have 2.2 Mbps Broadband but nothing was happening this afternoon.

The police responded instantly and effectively. The measures which have caused citizens concern are actually examples of how well the authorities are doing their job which is very well.

Oh Bless you for the cake, I can see you have a good idea that I can be tempted into a third sugar in my tea and so you wheeled out the whole sugar can! That made me laugh Ani!🙂

You are very right, the way the authorities and the police are handling this is retaining calm in the Country, especially in the Capitol.

I have been very impressed how they have handled these incidents today and those of two weeks ago.

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

The Prime Minister has urged people to stay calm and not to be intimidated.

London hit by four bomb attempts, two weeks on

By Philippe Naughton, Times Online

Exactly two weeks after four suicide bombers wreaked havoc in the London rush hour, large parts of the capital were again brought to a standstill today by apparent copycat attacks on three Tube trains and a bus.

NI_MPU(‘middle’);Emergency services were called out to incidents at three stations, including a reported nail bomb attack at Warren Street station.

Warren Street, Shepherd’s Bush and Oval stations were evacuated at 12.30pm. An explosion was also reported on a No 26 bus at Hackney in East London, blowing out the windows but not causing any injuries.

Sir Ian Blair, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, has confirmed that one person was injured in attacks that were “close to simultaneous”.

Large parts of London were cordoned off after the bombs, including University College Hospital, near Warren Street, where armed police reportedly chased a man - thought to be a bomber - into the building.

Soon afterwards, Sky News reported that an internal memo was circulated among hospital staff asking them to be on the alert for a black or Asian man, 6ft 2ins in height, wearing a blue top with a hole in the back with wires protruding from it.

A press spokesman for the hospital confirmed that armed officers were inside. The incident was said to be over at 4pm.

Tony Blair broke off from a meeting with his Australian counterpart, John Howard, to be briefed on the incidents. After a Cobra meeting, the Cabinet emergency committee, Mr Blair resumed his normal schedule - even though a man with a knapsack was arrested at the gates of Downing Street and led away at gunpoint as the committee met.

“We know why these things are done, they’re done to scare people and to frighten them, to make them anxious and worried,” Mr Blair told a press conference. “In this instance there appear to have been no casualties. The police have done their very best and the security services too in this situation and I think we’ve just got to react calmly.”

Appearing outside New Scotland Yard, Sir Ian Blair, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, said the incidents were “clearly very serious” involving “four explosions - four attempts at explosions”.

Sir Ian said: “At the moment the casualty numbers appear to be very low in the explosions, the bombs appear to be smaller than on the last occasions, but we don’t know the implications of this yet and we’ll have to examine the scene very closely.”

The incidents came two weeks to the day after four suicide bombers blew themselves up on three Tube trains and a London bus, killing 52 travellers and four bombers in a co-ordinated attack blamed on the al-Qaeda network.

Sir Ian appealed to Londoners to stay off the transport system, but to go about their normal business. Five Tube lines - the Victoria, Northern, Hammersmith and City, Bakerloo and Piccadilly - were suspended. It was later reported that the Victoria line had reopened either side of Warren St.

“It looks like it may be people messing around, copycat-type stuff,” Dr Shane Brighton, a terrorism expert at the Royal United Services Institute, told Reuters. “The absence of any clear evidence of substantial blasts means that this is on the face of it at the moment not a follow-up attack of the same proportion.”

I’ve just phoned London and my family over there are all alive.

The news in Britain has not suggested that these are copy-cat prank type attacks, but have stated that they are more likely to be organised terrorist attacks. Perhaps using smaller explosives to avoid detection by the security measures in place.
