Police Commissioner ian Blair said this evening that the Metropolitan Police Service were today engaged in the most complicated police operation in its history. The situation is very fluid, with news breaking all the time. Unfortunately, can’t remain on line this evening to keep you all updated; have to do a few tasks for Father this evening.
At 10:00 AM this morning Armed Police chased a suspect onto the tube system at Stockwell (Lambeth, south west London) and shot him dead after he boarded a train. It is not confirmed as yet but it is thought that he had explosives strapped to his body and this was why the Police shot to kill. The man had earlier ignored police instructions to surrender.
The suspect who was killed WAS NOT one of the suspects being sought for yesterdays attempted bombings. However, it is confirmed that he has been under surveillance since late last night and is linked to the other suspects. This would make sense since the cops who shot him were in Plain Clothes, therefore Detectives and/or MI 5.
Later, at approximately 11: 50 a number of houses in the Shepherds Bush area were raided. Stun grenades and CS gas were used and also a robot explosives device was deployed. No confirmation of arrests as yet.
The explosive devices recovered yesterday have " Given up many clues as to the possible identity of conspirators" and Commissioner Blair described their recovery as being “THE major breakthrough in this investigation”.
The men being sought for yesterdays attack are thought to have gone to ground near to the Stations that were targetted and from where they ran. This explains the raids in Shepherds Bush, and the man being shot at Stockwell, which is the next station down the line from Oval.
No further detail at this time but (18.30 Hours: breaking news) a man has been arrested in or near Stockwell.
I should add that the ‘Bleeding Heart’ liberals are already shouting the odds about this shooting. A member of the public claims to have seen what happened, and described how the officers brought the man to the ground, then shot him ‘5 times’ without making an attempt to restrain or arrest him. And the Train driver union are threatening to strike because ‘no one can guarantee their safety’.
This seems to have been a response to an unfortunate episode at Stockwell. Apparently the driver of the train, seeing what was happening, and hearing the shots, ran out of his cab and proceeded to run up the tunnel in pure fear and the Police thought he was a suspect and nearly shot him before realising who he was.
Catch you later.
