Yup, its never a good idea to read the comments, but I fall into that trap sometimes too :confused:
 
What a sad tale. It is a just sentence. I can only hope and pray that the medicine applied to the wound will heal the poor man before he passes from this life.

It is sad to see pride bringing a good man down. Especially a Franciscan.

He admits to continued disobedience. A priest can stick by his beliefs and convictions without breaking his vow of obedience unless his pride is leading him elsewhere.

Tell me again how deliberately defying a dogmatic teaching (and yes, male-only priesthood IS dogmatic, not ‘a discipline’) from a Church you are not only a member of, but an ORDAINED member of, isn’t ‘prideful.’

And there is no such thing as a ‘woman priest’ in the Catholic Church because the Church has no authority to ordain women.

But Priests in the Church really can’t do these types of thing in public.

I do like that the Catholic Church has a fixed teaching and authoritative structure. This keep it from falling into the problems of the Anglican Church, the Baptist Church, Evangelical Protestantism et al.

I pray for this priest as I am sure his has a tender and loving heart.

And that’s exactly the problem! Please read Post #10.

I notice he is 76 years old. We thank you, Lord, that the younger priests seem very inclined to obey infallible Church teaching.
