This is what I have been praying: ( If it is any use to anyone else?) I am attending mass everyday and praying this prayer along with an Our Father, and Hail Mary. Tonight is Nocturnal Adoration at my Church as well.

"Heavenly Father,

Give us a Shepherd after your own heart—endowed with supernatural wisdom and courage, with unshakable faith and deep humility, capable of sacrificial service. May he be zealous to defend Holy Mother Church, her sacred teaching, the integrity of her sacraments and her persecuted members throughout the world.

We invoke the Holy Spirit upon the coming conclave–to reveal with clarity and convincing force the man You have chosen to succeed Peter in these trying times.

And may the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Help of Christians and Mother of the Church, inspire and uphold all the Cardinal Electors, especially my cardinals (I name them) thwart any interference of the evil one and protect the next Bishop of Rome from every effort to harm or disarm him. Amen"

That is beautiful. If I had a printer I would print it out. If I had the money, I’d have it printed on holy cards and distribute them throughout my diocese.

As it is, I will have to come here and pray it every day.

Thank you for the beautiful prayer. I am heading off for Adoration and our Holy Hour and have it printed off until I commit to memory. I chose Cardinal George Alencherry as he was at the top of the list and will ask for Giuseppe Versaldi as he is at the end of the list (alphabet). Many prayer tonight as this “First Friday” for Adoration is spreading through our Archdiocese as well.

Last night after Holy Hour I was talking with a couple of friends about Adopting Cardinals. I told them about the CAF adoption and one of them said there is a website as well where you can pick a Cardinal to pray for. She said “I was assigned this Eastern Rite Cardinal from India.” I said “Oh you mean Cardinal George Alencherry? I adopted him too.” Funny coincidence that we have the same Cardinal! So he received double prayers from our Parish.
