Hey everyone, I was looking for the bible verse where Jesus says something like, ‘If you deny Me among men I will deny you before my Father’. Thanks for the help.

… but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 10:33 (RSV-CE)

You might also want to try to look it up in the Catechism:

deny father

…then check out the footnote (83) associated with that quotation.

🙂

or you can enter the verse in your search engine you’ll get a variety of sites that will give you the book, chapter and verse numbers and then you can look it up in the NAB or whatever. Even if you don’t know the verse exactly, there are so many variations among the different Bible editions, it always seems to work.

if you’re looking for a verse the blue letter bible web page offers a robust search engine.

www.blueletterbible.org

this one is nice for looking up stuff in the RSV translation and they carry the Latin Vulgate as well.

drbo.org/

a searchable version of the Douay-Rheims bible.

and also the NAB translation website hosted by the USCCB

usccb.org/nab/bible/

hope this helps for future searches!

Sorry to ask if anyone knows about what I believe to be a verse from the Old Testament of Moses saying to the israelites to pay attention to what God had revealed them and leave what He didn’t to himself. Does anyone recognise something like this?😛 thanks in advance.

Deuteronomy 29:29
The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.

I use www.biblegateway.com to search, as it has an easy search feature as well as numerous versions of the bible in various languages. All of them Protestant, but I usually use the NIV or KJV to show Catholic doctrine.

you can infact use the Douay Rheims on biblegateway.com, but you first need to choose to show bibles with the Deuterocanonical books in them through the ‘Preferences’ menu.

They go out of their way to try and stop you using them, the bias of that website means I hardly ever use it.

EWTN (For the RSV) or Drbo.org (Douay-Rheims) for me anyday:thumbsup: .

I like to use New Advent for looking up Scriptures in the DRV rather than Drbo.org. I really do not like Drbo so I don’t go there.

I also like to use The Unbound Bible when I am searching for topics, etc. then cross ref it to my preferred translation the RSV-CE.

whats wrong with Drbo?

Infact I could probably answer my question myself, i think from some of the links the owner of the site has no qualms with sspx, hmm.
