Looking for a good intermediate Catholic bible. .

The Didache Bible has very easy to read language.
Or the NRSV. I would recommend a Bible that will serve for her entire life.
Lots of people market things for kids and teens…but really, at the end of the day,.a good Catholic translation lasts without gimmicks. What you discuss with her about the Bible passages is what matters. How wonderful that you think about these things. Many parents leave that to the catechists. But parents are the primary educators of the faith. 👍

I am not that familiar with children’s Bibles, but I am sure there must be a good one for her age group 9-12 or so-a preteen Bible.
The Catholic Company has a nice selection of Bibles. I receive several catalogues that have lots of items for children including Bibles. Any Catholic gift shops where you live that you could stop by and browse?

Many “children’s or teen” Bibles have problematic translations.
My pastor who is a Scripture scholar, recommends a good solid Bible. No specialization.

My favorite Bible personally is my Precious Moments one I received as a present for my Baptism when I was a baby. What’s important isn’t the “target demographic” so to speak, but whether or not the translation is valid and accurate.

The International Student Bible for Catholics.

It has a section in the front that explains the teachings of Jesus and His Church.

It’s NAB translation though so you might want to check out this article before you purchase (though they are very cheap)…

My high school presented us with the Catholic Youth Bible from St. Mary’s Press. I still have it with me 15 years later and use it regularly.
 
Depending on her reading level, she may like this one. It’s a classic at this point. It’s not quite a bible per se, in that it’s not chapter-and-verse, but it does a very, very good job of telling the books of the bible as stories. The writing is highly literate. As it happens, I had a copy as a child of about her age, and it’s what got me interested in the bible as such because I simply enjoyed reading it. Lest that make me sound terribly devout, I assure you I wasn’t! I just liked to read, and that was a good book.

Thanks for your recommendation. My grandson will be 9 in October. I have seen that Bible version and it does seem appropriate for that age.
