We went through this with my mother in 2006. I know there are no words I can give you to ease your pain.
I remember the day my mother passed. We were turning off all the machines, my father in a last second attempt to hang on to her let them hook her up to life support, but she was gone…We were getting ready to go, I was reflecting on my life with her and the woman that she was and then it hit me, she was going to be with Jesus. I was excited for her, she was going to be with Jesus that day and as much as I knew I would miss her, I also knew how excited she must have been. Getting to be with the Lord that she loved her whole life. My husband said how blessed we are to have our faith in God to help us through losing those we love. We are able to see past the pain and see the beauty of passing from this life into the next.
Being with her when she died, being able to hold her hand as she left us and went to the open arms of Christ is something I will never forget. I consider it a blessing to be able to be with her then.
I will never stop missing her, but I know that she is watching my family and holding our baby in Heaven.
I’m glad your brother is with you. Lean on each other during this time.
I pray for the peace that only our Lord can give to you and your family at this time.
