Part of me didn’t feel to post this request. As I posted before, asking for prayers, which I am thankful for receiving, but up to this date, I am still unemployed. Having prayed, asked for prayers, prayed for others, did novenas and everything I think I could have done, I am yet to have my prayer answered. I have completed school with my Masters, I am staying at a friend’s house, I have applied to jobs, I had ONE lead, that went out the door, and I am LOST and extremely WEARY now…I dont even know what to do.:confused::(:mad:

Hello Marian. I’m glad that you did post your request. It took my friend nearly two years to find a job. I know it’s a tough market but please don’t give up. You always have friends here to listen and support you.

Holy Mary bless dear Marian as she tries to find employment. Please grant her peace, hope and strength each day.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

I understand your feelings. I myself am looking for a job that will keep my family supported until my dad finds work (he is very irresponsible). The job market is very bleak right now, but sometimes hope does shine through. The best I can tell you is to keep praying, and keep looking.

Good things happen at the oddest times. I remember when I was looking to purchase a truck for college with about $1000 saved, I happened across an old Ford truck owned by a Protestant minister. The truck was an `87, but in fantastic shape. The price was just a bit higher than the money I had saved. Over the 1-2 years I’ve had it, the truck has performed perfectly.

Whatever you do, don’t lose hope, because God will never abandon you no matter how bad things are.

While you have this ‘free’ time, maybe you could look into some volunteer work. It would give you something to look forward to on a daily basis, and maybe even lead to a job opportunity. God will answer your prayers, just remember His time is different than ours!

We are in an economy that is creating the “1,000 mile commuters”, i.e. those who leave home and family to work in other cities and come home only on weekends or other delayed times.
You need to go to where the work “is”, rather than wait for the work to come to you. I believe the Dakota’s have more work than employees, and there are 2-3 other states in the same scenario.

Marian, I do understand exactly what you are going through, trust me I have been there.

An Our Father, a Hail Mary, and a Glory Be that you find a job, and another set of them that you do not fall into despair. Don’t give up hope!

This Sunday’s readings might have been written just for you:
Habakkuk 1:2-3; 2:2-4
How long, O LORD? I cry for help
but you do not listen!
I cry out to you, “Violence!”
but you do not intervene.
Why do you let me see ruin;
why must I look at misery?
Destruction and violence are before me;
there is strife, and clamorous discord.
Then the LORD answered me and said:
Write down the vision clearly upon the tablets,
so that one can read it readily.
For the vision still has its time,
presses on to fulfillment, and will not disappoint;
if it delays, wait for it,
it will surely come, it will not be late.
The rash one has no integrity;
but the just one, because of his faith, shall live.
Ps 95:1-2, 6-7, 8-9 Responsorial Psalm
R. (8) If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Come, let us sing joyfully to the LORD;
let us acclaim the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us joyfully sing psalms to him.
R. If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Come, let us bow down in worship;
let us kneel before the LORD who made us.
For he is our God,
and we are the people he shepherds, the flock he guides.
R. If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Oh, that today you would hear his voice:
“Harden not your hearts as at Meribah,
as in the day of Massah in the desert,
Where your fathers tempted me;
they tested me though they had seen my works.”
R. If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
2 Timothy 1:6-8, 13-14 Reading 2
Beloved:
I remind you, to stir into flame
the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands.
For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice
but rather of power and love and self-control.
So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord,
nor of me, a prisoner for his sake;
but bear your share of hardship for the gospel
with the strength that comes from God.
Take as your norm the sound words that you heard from me,
in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
Guard this rich trust with the help of the Holy Spirit
that dwells within us.
Luke 17:5-10 Gospel
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
The Lord replied,
"If you have faith the size of a mustard seed,
you would say to this mulberry tree,
'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
“Who among you would say to your servant
who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field,
‘Come here immediately and take your place at table’?
Would he not rather say to him,
‘Prepare something for me to eat.
Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink.
You may eat and drink when I am finished’?
Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded?
So should it be with you.
When you have done all you have been commanded,
say, ‘We are unprofitable servants;
we have done what we were obliged to do.’”
God has heard your prayers, and those of the faithful who are praying for you. He did not spare even His own Son the suffering of this world, so we must also expect suffering in this life. Trust God and be patient with Him, just as He has been patient with you.

May Christ’s peace be with you.

Thanks all for taking the time to read, post and attempting to lift my spirits. I have been lifted. I have been doing volunteer work in the interim to keep me busy. GOD, please give me my breakthrough. I will pray for you all. Thanks, God Bless.

Dear Marian,

Stand fast and keep your faith. When you think you have prayed enough say one more. Now is the time to to show Jesus you trust in Him. Begin praying the Rosary with your heart. If you haven’t visit the Blessed Sacrament and pour out your heart. Our Lord will take care of you and provide what is best for you. May God shower you with grace.

MEMORARE,
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen

Wow! What a blessing! I will pray that each day as you go through this trial of looking for work, that you receive just one small blessing to keep up your spirits. That each day you be blessed with your daily bread and a warm place to lay your head at night.

God Bless! And congrats on getting your degree. That is a blessing, too!

MarianB, you were lifted up in prayer Friday before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament during the hour of mercy. Amen.

Holy Mother Mary we continue to pray for Marian. Please renew her hope and faith each day. Nothing is impossible with God

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Thank you all and I am writing to ask for continued prayers please. I have found the strength to send out a few more applcications this week - for jobs that I meet the requirements for and I TRUST that God will grant me favour and victory in this journey. Thank you all and God Bless.

Praying for you, MarianB …

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Lord, you have been our refuge
from generation to generation.
Before the mountains were born,
before earth and heaven were conceived,
from all time to all time, you are God.

…

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

O God, I humbly implore…
In my lack of trust, let me live faith.
In my disappointment, let me live hope.
In my bleakness, let me live joy.
In the emptiness of my heart, let me live love.
In my deprivations, let me value what is precious before You.
In my weakness and illness, grant me spiritual health.

In my anger and resentment, let me live generosity and forgiveness.
In my detachment, let me live community.
In the difficulties of commitment, let me be dedicated.
In my failures, let Your Spirit bless and heal.
In my successes, let Your will be served.

In human reality, let me live spiritual wisdom.
In maturity, let me become true child of the Father.
In my individuality, let me live in Eucharistic communion.
In the kind and warm things that I try to do, let Your grace flow.

In the confusion of my life, in my striving and good intentions
—regardless of my doubts, mistakes and infirmities, let me fully live Your will in vibrant, humble trust.

Holy Mother Mary we continue to pray for Marian’s intentions. Please bless her and help her through this difficult time.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

All you can do is try. And pray that God will steer you to where he wants you to be Marian.
