I consider the word “love” a verb. Love is not a feeling, it’s a committment…total giving of oneself whether one “feels” like it or not. Emotions are too volatile & changeable to rely on. The very weather can affect how we “feel”.

God proves His love for us by creating us, dying for us as well as sustaining us within this world. If it’s true that “love” is action & I believe it is… what is this young man . who has let a crisis of faith chase him out of the Catholic Church…DOING to love God.

He is natural, God is supernatural, nobody ever saw him, it takes time for faith to take hold, even if God wants to give U that gift,faith takes a lifetime of work, & many cant find it
God does not give everyone the same gifts & talents, life is not fair & we are not all created equal, & Guess what God loves us all just the way we are, He Knows man is weak

I am no theologian or professional on the workings of the church, but I will direct you, the person who started this thread and all others, to turn your ear to what the Pope has to say. I was too young to pay attention to the last one but Pope Benedict has some good things to say. For example, he just started a week long reading of the bible on italian television. He also announced the start of a synod, where 200 bishops will meet and discuss the future of the church and the importance of holy scripture. He also said that it is the Pauline year, 2,000 years since Paul, and that we should focus on his writings. Paul was a firm supporter in the freedom that G-d has given us who believe and that we are free from the power of sin; though we will continue to struggle, we can look to Jesus. Pope Benedict stated that ‘freedom and authority’ must be and are in a mutual relationship. Since G-d is the ultimate authority who has given us our freedom. Paul also said that we should live our lives in constant fear of not living out G-d’s will. If heaven is where truth and justice rule and there is no sin we must make the right choices and become like Jesus.

Why “strange”? You type like a child - and since your typing is all we know of you, we assume that you are a child.

Not “critical” - she was just responding appropriately to the portrayal of yourself that you have given to us.

If you are a grandmother, typing classes were mandatory when you were a girl growing up. You know where the shift key is, and at the speeds we were required to type when we were kids (in our generation of women, we normally type faster than we can speak), it probably takes less effort to use it than not to use it.

well, what an impression you must make as an RCIA instructor.
if this is how you behave with your students, i feel sorry for them.
i have been happily posting on here for 5 months and no one has commented that i type in lower case.
your post is very childish and i find it hard to believe you are part of a church ministry.

I agree. We ARE all created with equal value, but not with, as you say, equality of gifts & talents. However, I don’t understand how your posts relate to the fact that many of us need to quit worrying about whether God loves us or not. He has told us, He has proven His love:

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

Romans 4:25 He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification.

Maybe we should be more concerned about how much we are loving Him. Do we try to follow His Commandments, do we take time everyday to read His Word, to pray, to show Him to others through our actions & our words. I know that I fail to do so sometimes.

So, I guess I don’t understand what you are really saying in your replies to me. Please explain?

I agree. We ARE all created with equal value, but not with, as you say, equality of gifts & talents. However, I don’t understand how your posts relate to the fact that many of us need to quit worrying about whether God loves us or not. He has told us, He has proven His love:

well, all i can say is that considering i have a B.A and am 56 years old, i find it strange that you would think i am a youngin’ and rebellious. oh, and i also am a grandmother.

i don’t know why some people who come on here try to have an attitude that they are better than others and that gives them the right to be condescending. i looked through the thread and saw others who typed their posts in lower case, but i didn’t see any complaints to them.

Come on guys, Whoever has done this to him is wrong. Im sorry kungubob that this has happened to you. There is no excuse for it. Here is how it goes down Kungfubob, I hope this helps, we all ge times in our lives when we feel God has left us. Especially when my Brother died going on 5 years ago now, I felt like God hung me out to dry.

Then in March when life seemed to get better he took the rock of our Family my Dad, so I understand your pain, and I to have felt in my life alone, But trust God, he will show you what he did and why. But this will not happen over night, but I swear to you it will happen. And when God tests our faith, sometimes we fail he doesnt but I promise you this Your faith will move mountains some day. He will make it stronger than ever.

Stick with God, it will come back. I will pray for you and light a candle on Sunday. And whoever hurt you KFB im sorry and if it was I, Im ten times sorry.

you set a really good example for someone professing to be a Catholic and an RCIA instructor. i never asked your opinion on anything and what gives you the right to be so rude? maybe you should ask yourself what you have learned since becoming a Catholic and how that is being reflected here with your immature postings.
