You can just look at him and tell he’s an ‘other’. It was obvious when he started a couple of episodes back manipulating the relationship between Jack and Locke.
Any thoughts on why the hatch goes into lock down? Is it 'cause they miss pushing the button? I thought it was pretty interesting how the clock started spinning and showing heiroglyphics when lock almost didn’t push the button in time.

from the promo…you can hear the alarm going off telling them they were out of fime adn the code had not been entered…Will locke be locked in with the other? Is he really an other? The promo shows something up in the trees. Could it be the baloon?

Yes, I’m excited about tonight.
I definitely think Henry is an “other”. Yet, I’m just as clueless about their whole reason of being there and what they’re doing, as I was when they first introduced them.
Not to get off track, but what is the deal with the bearded “other” (remember the one on the boat when they took Walt) not really being bearded? In Clare’s flashback to when she was kidnapped by Ethan a few weeks ago, they showed a locker with a fake beard and theatrical glue, and that man talking to Ethan.
And when will we get to see an episode with Michael’s search for Walt? I’m getting very antsy.

I think it’s to show the insidious nature of the others. As to who they are? I’m convinced they are the original group from the Dharma project. I haven’t come up with a satisfactory theory, yet, to describe what they want the children for, though.

I’m seriously getting sick of LOST showing one new episode and then 5wks of repeats…this is two in a row, so does that mean the month of april will be all repeats?? Sheesh. ABC is seriously testing my patience…it’s almost better/easier to wait until the season is over and then just rent the dang thing. At least that way the breaks are on MY schedule! Whatever happened to the television SEASON, not the television “let’s break for the superbowl/emmys/golden globes/SAG awards/local preschool graduation ceremony etc etc…”

My theory is that they had no idea the show would run this long and didn’t have a clue where they were going to take the storyline and are making it up as they go. And they’re filling in a lot of air time by going back and filling in some gaps until they figure out where they want to go with this whole thing!
A part of me wants to just wash my hands of this stupid show, but the other part of me can’t stop watching!

I saw a cast member interviewed and he said the writers/creators had a very complex and clear plan and definately know the direction in which the show is going, so if we believe that cast member they’re not just making it up as they go along. Waiting for it is infuriating though.

I heard the same thing. The story line has so many nuances, that they’d get painted into a corner in no time if they were making it up on the fly. I hope ABC isn’t taking a page from the Soprano’s playbook. I washed my hands of that show long ago because of its inconsistancy.

Who do y’all suppose the guy is that Hurley sees in next week’s episode? Do you think it was Leonard (I think that was his name), the guy he got the numbers from in the mental institution?

Oh I forgot about that?! Could be. Last night’s was hard to watch… I love John Lock & I was so freaked out that his legs were stuck.
If the guy was one of the “others” - why didn’t he escape when he had the chance, rather than helping John?
Also, do you get the feeling that Sun’s baby isn’t her husbands? I seemed to get that from the wierd look she gave when he hugged her… sort of a hint? Maybe the look was because she doesn’t really love her husband (since she was going to leave him ??)

Because he probably thought he would be able to fool everyone by giving them the site of a real balloon accident and make them think it was really his. How was he to know that Saiid would actually dig up the grave? If this had succeeded he would probably be allowed in the normal camp outside the hatch and they would have a spy for the “Others” in camp.
It’s possible but the look could also be related to a feeling like, hey you didn’t like me before when I couldn’t get pregnant, now you like me, what gives? As of right now there is no way of knowing if she was telling the truth when she said she hadn’t been with anyone else. Two possabilities either she is lying and the baby is someone elses or she isn’t lying and the island made his swimmers more active and considering the island allowed Locke to walk, who knows what effect it would have on other health problems.

There is no way to know if he did it or something else did it.
My theory on the black light and the lockdown is that it is related in some way to the package of food that was dropped. Maybe when a new package of food is scheduled to be dropped the hatch goes into a lockdown mode to make sure the people inside don’t get hurt or anything and since the package was dropped there was an automatic reset of the system. Or maybe “Henry” knows the real reason behind the system and reset it because he knows what will happen if he doesn’t.

Maybe THAT’S why they type in the numbers - to let people at the Dharma Institutes (wherever they are) know that they’re still alive…thus the supplies get dropped!

Good point! That’s why Henry asked them if they wondered how long that food had been there, and where it came from.
I’m still wondering what happened to the original guy that was in the hatch when they found it. He just took off running and we haven’t seen anything of him since.
