LOST - the hatch lockdown

Interesting stuff.

My wife gets Entertainment Weekly and they had a picture of what Locke saw. There were a bunch of formulas and writings and it did look like a picture of all the hatches or something.

Don’t know what to think about Sun. It’d be nice if it was an island miracle kind of thing. I hope she didn’t lie about it.

That’d be crazy if it was Leonard that Hurley saw. It probably is though - Jack saw his dad.

I wonder what’s gonna happen w/ the “other” now. When he asked for Locke’s promise and then Locke asked him “who are you” - I told my wife that there was Locke’s out. If the “other” did lie, then Locke could say he promised Henry Gale and not him.

He did seem to be able to repeat the number pretty quickly back to Locke.

When Locke crawled in there calling about for “Henry” it was a bit before “Henry” came back. I wonder where he went - if he was responsible for the doors coming back up or what?

I’ll tell you what though - that food drop made it all the more interesting.

Oh…Henry remembered those numbers way too fast. I’ve been watching the show since the beginning and I still forget the numbers 😉

I thought the ceiling may have been the Dharma locations, too.

I love this show 👍

I am glad that there are people on this site that love LOST too! I that perhaps the original Henry was the partner of the guy who originally watched the hatch. Didn’t that guy (friend of Jack’s) say that “Henry” crashed on the island in a balloon?

I am glad that the story is starting back up and I hope for more character development. I missed that in the past few eposodes. It was good to see jack, Hurly, Sawyer, and Kate just sitting around playing poker. Finally something normal!

Ben

By the way I think that Sun is lying in order to “protect” her husband from the truth. You can tell by the expression on her face. Can’t wait for tonight episode!

The map on the door has a lot of information on it. There are even phrases in Latin. It does show several bunkers and a central area with a question mark. The notes all over it almost indicate that the person who made it has not been fully briefed on the initial “Dharma” project.

Perhaps it is Desmond?
Plus, Locke only saw it for a few seconds. It is highly unlikely that he will remember much of the detailed notes, though perhaps he will remember that there are more bunkers to find.

“Henry Gale” definitely seems like an “other”, but they could be tricking us with the find. There must be more to it that we don’t know yet.
Here is a link (one of many) to the map lost.cubit.net/pics/2x17/blastDoorMapOverlay.jpg

Here are some of the Latin translations (not mine)…
Aegrescit medendo - The disease worsens with the treatment. The remedy is worse than the disease
Sursum corda - Lift up your hearts (to God)
Credo nos in fluctu eodem esse - I think we’re on the same wavelength
Malum consilium quod mutari non potest - It’s a bad plan that can’t be changed.
Cogito ergo doleo - I think therefore I am depressed
Ut sit magna, tamen certe lenta ira deorum est - The wrath of the gods may be great, but it certainly is slow
Hic sunt dracones - Here be dragons
Nil actum credens dum quid superesset agendum - Thinking nothing done, while anything was yet to do
Liberate te ex inferis - Save yourself from hell
Mus uni non fidit antro - A mouse does not rely on just one hole

Looking forward to tonight’s episode.

After last nights episode, could this all be a fantasy? The fact that the girl was also in the asylum was eye opening.

Could be, there have been lots of theories, like dream sequence, purgatory, stuff like that.

The only thing that lead me to think that it isn’t Hurley’s dream/dellusion is due to the fact that you see things going on that don’t revolve around Hurley and that Hurley has no idea about. In a dream sequence all things would evolve around you.

The girl being in the asylum can be just the normal coincedences you see through-out the entire series, like the guy that was Jake’s patient turing up in the hatch. It may turn out that maybe she was stalking Hurley after he got out of the asylum or something like that. You never know with Lost.

I admit it! I don’t do soap operas but, I’m hooked on this!

But if you remember in the TV series St. Elsewhere, the entire thing was made up in the mind of an autistic boy. So, if it is Hurley’s delusional fantasies in the asylum, he could also be imagining alternate story lines, as well. I’d be really PO’d if the writers went that way with the story, though. Since it’s been done numerous times (St. Elsewhere, the Newhart show, Dallas, etc…) it would be too cliche.

Maybe she is stalking Herly? yeah, that was too wierd.

I agree that it is possible but based on my impression of the series so far I doubt they would be taking the easy way out by being so “cliche”.

I watched it again last night, and I tend to think that the Hurley sub-plot is simply an element to bring more depth to the character. Here’s a guy who’s had some issues with his bean, and is now thrust into a really stressful situation. It’s bound to cause some relapses.

I think we are seeing an underlying theme, though. Each character (save a few) have had some sort of profound medical experience. Jack seemingly caused a ‘miracle’ cure on his wife while she was paralized, Locke donated his kidney to his father (and then his father kicked him to the curb), Claire was pregnant, Hurley was in a mental institution, Jin and Sun found out they couldn’t have kids, Kate’s mom died of cancer (i think), and Charlie is a herione junkie (a bit of a stretch, though).

Thoughts?

Don’t forget Locke was in a wheelchair leading up to this flight, too, unable to use his legs.
That’s something that’s always with me…
I was half expecting those collector dudes to shoot him in the back the other episode so we’d find out why he was in a wheelchair before.

Though, I vaguely recall from the last season that the wheelchair was the result of the kidney surgery. But maybe it was never really specified and I just assumed that.

I just find it so bizarre that he couldn’t walk, then he can (run, too), and then he lost the use of his legs when he found the plane so that Boone had to get climb the tree for him, and then poof his legs are good again.

Of course, now they’ve been pierced and smashed… :whacky:

No it couldn’t have been, because you saw him after the surgey up and walking about, with Helen, etc. Wasn’t that sad when she left him the other night?

What I want to know is why and when did he start working at the box company. Probably when he became paralyzed.

Oh, that’s right…it was after the surgery when Locke was stalking his father that Helen gave him that ultimatum - to let the father situation go or her, and he was walking around at that time.

Hmmm…so we still don’t know when the wheelchair came into play for him or why…just that he was in one going onto the plane but doesn’t need one now that he’s on the island.

As for Helen leaving him, yeah, that was sad. I couldn’t believe he’d help his dad out though after all that. Helen’s onto something there…he really does have to find out what the dad’s pull is on him.

As for the box company, I thought he was in a wheelchair when he was with the box company and he announced he was going on that adventure to Australia…and he called that phone-girl inviting her to join him but she, of course, turned him down. That was kinda creepy, how he was living in the fantasy of being in a real relationship with a paid-phone-date person, yet he went on the trip without her which is this trip. I thought the boss let him go in that episode or he resigned in order to go on the trip.

We found out he had been a home inspector with Helen…so yeah, I wonder now when the box company came into play…probably after the injury since he can’t inspect 2 & 3 story homes in a wheelchair.

Interesting…

My theory, which by now I am sure thousands have, is that the others are good. Thus Henry Gale, yelling, “but I am a good person” when Sayid is about to shot him.

The people from the plane are actually the bad guys.
Most of them so far, have revealed some pretty dark secret, even innocent Sun, who is having someone elses baby!(ok this is not proven…yet)
I am sure I will have a different theory after the next show, I always do."

Kay Cee:
So what was all that stuff Locke saw on the door when the blacklight came on? Anybody got any theories?
It was a map of the island, I saw it in a magazine at the check out line. I cannot remember which one though.
