If you insist on Trinity then there will be always conflicts between Christians and with Muslims. Muslims are not happy with that. Muslims want/wish to see Christians on a true faith. The salvation is by faith and the religion suppport faith. Muslims believe in all prophets so there are no any risk for them. But Christians do not respect prophet Muhammed and if indeed Muhammed is a real prophet(Christians do not believe exactly) then there will be danger for Christians because they deny a prophet.
Why should there be a conflict if God means us to love one another, why would Muslims be unhappy that people don’t believe as they believe. Being Christian is a good way to live… Jesus teaches us to love and care for one another, why would that make any one unhappy? I would ask yourself what are you truly believing because God loves all especially the ones who love and care for one another… It should not make anyone unhappy…
I just told you we know that Jesus is a prophet because Jesus is God, all things were made through Him, with Him and In Him because Jesus has always been with the Father… John 1:3 …Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. Colossians 1:16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
We have one God and that is our Father as Jesus mentioned. I want to remind that caution from God:
The prophet Muhammad (circa 570-632 A.D.) introduced Islam in 610 - See more at: allaboutreligion.org/origin-of-islam.htm#sthash.hGsffj0B.dpuf
and so changed the New testament to become more in line with what Muslims believe rather than what Christians believe… This is where the deception happened as you mentioned previously. And what does the name Islam come from? the word enslave… God does not want us enslaved to Him… God wants us to love Him and love is never love unless it is given freely…
It will be better if we say that : God is one
Actually It is better to say God is a Triune God because then we would be saved and can spend eternity in heaven with God… 3 in 1 so we will have a way to the Father through Jesus… Now I ask you, how do you get to heaven and why wouldn’t you call God the Father when clearly in the scriptures God is called the Father… ? And while you are thinking about that, can you imagine what it means to have the Creator of Heaven and earth as Our Father, who wants the best for us and loves us Sooo much, he even became man so that we would be reunited with Him in heaven in Gods heavenly home? I much rather go to a loving Father than a God who wants me to be his slave… Think about it…

- O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not “Three (Trinity)” : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is One God. Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs. Quran, An-Nisa(4):171
