Regarding the Luminous Mysteries
I am a Catholic of the Anglican Ordinate and I truly enjoy praying the Rosary. But I have run into Catholics who attend the Novus Ordo mass who feel that if don’t pray the Luminous Mysteries exactly in the order suggested by St John Paul II you aren’t doing it right. For me the traditional 15 Mysteries work best in the original order. I pray the Luminous Mysteries as an extra Chaplet on Thursday’s (and even, on rare occasion, Monday’s) AFTER the Joyful Mysteries which preserves the original order. The method commonly being used is to me discordant. I don’t ask others do as I do but I would prefer people not try to mandate that others be in lock step with them on a PRIVATE devotion. For that reason I often find it easier to pray the Rosary with Traditional Latin Mass Catholics. I wish there were more like Patrick Madrid among the Novus Ordo Catholics.
