Apologize for your misunderstanding of what we profess? Sure.
Steido,

Why should I apologize for a church and what they profess, that should of never been? Yes anyone can start a man made church and come up with what they profess, but that does not make it right in God’s eyes.

The Catholic Church can tell you to come Home, because it is home! Funny you never heard of a Lutheran or any protestant church telling the Catholic faithful to come Home, because deep down in their hearts it will be silly to do so, because the Catholic Faithful is already Home

#185 Whoever says ā€œI believeā€ says ā€œI pledge myself to what we believe.ā€ Communion in faith needs a common language of faith, normative for all and** uniting all in the same confession of faith.**

Steido, how many professions / confession of faith should there be? If you answered one, then obviously the first one is the correct one by the Holy Spirit and any other profession of faith is one to many and not of God, but of the devil, yes I repeat it again, the devil, because having another profession like the Lutherans, etc… ā€œis not uniting all in the same confession of faithā€ it is dividing it.

JonNC, has apologized so should you, let not your pride get in your way of your salvation through His One and Only Church.

Come Home already.

Not to get off-topic, but reading this statement – along with a large of number of similar statements (please don’t anyone insist that I list them :o) on this forum-- I have to wonder how often similar statements are made in the official dialogues between our churches.

You mean like,
Catholic leader: Let’s get started with our dialogue. We’d like to welcome our Lutheran brothers, members of that heretical false church, following in the footsteps of that boar and heretic Luther.
Lutheran leader: Thanks for the warm welcome. We are happy to be here with you, the minions of that anti-Christ in the Vatican.

Hmm. I’d say never. The theologians and clergy have far too much respect for each other. They know the polemics of the past, know the reasons for them, and know it does no good to drag them up again except in the context of history and where we go from here. Their goal is closer ties, and advancing the cause of unity.

JonNC,

It would be good if the Catholic Church gets an apology form those who wrote LC-MS doctrinal statement.

The statement you are referring to the in the Book of Concord, and is therefore the statement of pan-Lutheranism. There is no more need to apologize for it than there is for the Vatican to apologize for the anathemas in the documents of the Council of Trent.

Or maybe, mutual prayers for forgiveness are in order.

 We’ve been upgraded to a church? We’re not just an ecclesiastical community?!!?

Jon,
the LCMS and the RC couldn’t even get a joint statement on Justification as we did with the LWF, I highlly doubt we’ll come to some agreement that the office of the Papacy is anti Christ and it is of course a stumbling block to dialogue,

The issue of the office of the Papacy is, of course, a stumbling block, but so are many other things. That’s why you dialogue.
I agree with you to the extent that if Rome and Orthodoxy haven’t solved this issue in 1,000 years, how could it be any easier for us. We do have, however, some mutual needs that are all of a sudden thrusting us together: the anti-religious freedom tactics of the current administration, and the liberal drift of some LWF synods, in the areas of morals and the clergy, which makes dialogue with them a moving target, it seems.

Thought you could slip that in there did you!

What, saying that your profession of faith is ā€œof the devilā€ isn’t respectful enough for you? What’s next, you’ll expect us all to bow and kiss your bracelet?

What if all the real presence churches got together to go after the symbolic fellowships?

We could sort out the papacy later. šŸ˜›
