JonNC,
It would be good if the Catholic Church gets an apology form those who wrote LC-MS doctrinal statement.

Why should I apologize for a church and what they profess, that should of never been? Yes anyone can start a man made church and come up with what they profess, but that does not make it right in Godās eyes.
You mean like,Not to get off-topic, but reading this statement ā along with a large of number of similar statements (please donāt anyone insist that I list them) on this forum-- I have to wonder how often similar statements are made in the official dialogues between our churches.
Iāll let you borrow my Mr. Incredible suitActually. Iām to fat to play Batman. I was thinking either a Viking, or a Puritan witch hunter
The statement you are referring to the in the Book of Concord, and is therefore the statement of pan-Lutheranism. There is no more need to apologize for it than there is for the Vatican to apologize for the anathemas in the documents of the Council of Trent.JonNC,

You mean like,
Catholic leader: Letās get started with our dialogue. Weād like to welcome our Lutheran brothers, members of that heretical false church,
Weāve been upgraded to a church? Weāre not just an ecclesiastical community?!!?

Lutheran leader: Thanks for the warm welcome. We are happy to be here with you, the minions of that anti-Christ in the Vatican.
Hmm. Iād say never. The theologians and clergy have far too much respect for each other. They know the polemics of the past, know the reasons for them, and know it does no good to drag them up again except in the context of history and where we go from here. Their goal is closer ties, and advancing the cause of unity.

The issue of the office of the Papacy is, of course, a stumbling block, but so are many other things. Thatās why you dialogue.Jon,
the LCMS and the RC couldnāt even get a joint statement on Justification as we did with the LWF, I highlly doubt weāll come to some agreement that the office of the Papacy is anti Christ and it is of course a stumbling block to dialogue,
Thought you could slip that in there did you!You mean like,

What, saying that your profession of faith is āof the devilā isnāt respectful enough for you? Whatās next, youāll expect us all to bow and kiss your bracelet?following in the footsteps of that boar and heretic Luther.

What if all the real presence churches got together to go after the symbolic fellowships? You mean like,
