McCain campaigned one way and legislated/votes the opposite way.
I don’t believe that he is the only politician to do so.McCain campaigned one way and legislated/votes the opposite way.
In the old days, a thread would have to be started based on a news article from a legitimate source. Gatewaypundit is not a legitimate news source, but we’re not sure if the old rules hold.I can’t be the only one that thinks the article title is less than charitable.![]()
This was well said. The subtitle of the article says, “His hatred for Trump and the working man takes precedence over his campaign promises.” In what way does opposing a horrible bill such as Cassidy-Graham where millions of people would lose healthcare coverage show hatred for working men? And even if McCain promised to repeal the ACA, should he vote for any replacement no matter how bad it is?
What he said was that the subject is too big and important to rush through something that is only supported by one party, and that more debate is needed to determine if the bill is even a good bill. People need confidence that what is decided by our government has some stability. How can they feel confident about their health care when this bill has not be even been scored by the CBO?what the article doesn’t say is that he said, he would have passed it if it was a bipartisan bill.
why would this make a difference? the bill should stand on what it does and not who signed on to it.
bottom line he would have supported it.upant:![]()

McCain certainly did not say that he would support this exact bill with no further debate or CBO scoring if only some Democrats signed on to it.
“I would consider supporting legislation similar to that offered by my friends Senators Graham and Cassidy were it the product of extensive hearings, debate and amendment. But that has not been the case,” he said.
have they rated ocare and all that is wrong with it?The Bishop’s agree with John McCain.
In fact, the latest from the USCCB is that the current Obamacare Repeal, flunks the morality test.
Jim
This is very casually uncharitable statement to make about the bishops. Remember, they are not our elected representatives. They have moral authority from the God.BTW, this is one of the reasons why many Catholics aren’t listening to the USCCB anymore. They don’t do their homework and do not fundamentally understand the issues.
The operative word here is scandal.
