BROCKTON - Mary Plourde attended the 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Edith Stein Church on Sunday, just after church officials discovered two homemade bombs had been thrown into the church.

“Most people were devastated by it. It was just a horrific thing,” said Plourde, of Brockton, the parish council secretary.

The Rev. Brian Smith then told parishioners that “we were so lucky we were celebrating Mass, because this could have gone in a different direction,” Plourde said. “The church could have burned right down.”

Its a touch ironic that the news source is called Wicked Local Brockton.
“If a fire had started inside that church when no one was there, it could really get far ahead of us,” Murphy said. “Church fires are notoriously difficult to put out. They’re such an open area.”
I wasn’t aware of that.

I hope the authorities catch who ever did this. And hope that whoever did this don’t strike again. 😦
