Thatās a mis-characterization of his beliefs.heard of the guy and i actually listened to him for a while till i woke up and came back to the churchā¦he is of the osas variety,he even goes so far as to say if on has slipped into a sinful life that person is still saved regardless of ther sins.in a nutshell he thinks after one accepts Jesus as their personal savior they are free to run amuck.

It is not in the best interests of the doctrine involved to substitute the designation, āThe Security of the Believer,ā not because the latter is wrong in itself but because the other formula is much more carefully and inclusively framed. . . .** It is not true that the believer is secure however much he may fall into sin and unfaithfulness.**
then tell us what he beleives ā¦Thatās a mis-characterization of his beliefs.
See the previous post. Your understanding of his beliefs is flawed. I wouldnāt expect you to be a fan of his or really know that much about him but now you do know a little more than you did a few minutes ago.then tell us what he beleives ā¦
if one can freely sin ,without repenting of the sins, and still be saved thatās permission to run a muck,no matter how you slice it.i have personally heard the man say this ,the main reason i refuse to even allow his voice on my radio.
i guess he changes with the wind thenā¦in answering a letter sent to him, from a person who had accepted Christ in his youth then went on to live a life of sin, which he later repented of.his question was āwas i still saved when i was living in sin?ā Mr.MacArthor replied that yes you didnāt need to repent you where still saved but it is good that you did repentā¦so yeah basically he is saying one is free to run amuckā¦no other way to put my friendā¦John MacArthur quotes John Murray to illustrate that one may not ārun amokā after accepting Christ:
First off, you donāt know me so I canāt be your friend.i guess he changes with the wind thenā¦in answering a letter sent to him, from a person who had accepted Christ in his youth then went on to live a life of sin, which he later repented of.his question was āwas i still saved when i was living in sin?ā Mr.MacArthor replied that yes you didnāt need to repent you where still saved but it is good that you did repentā¦so yeah basically he is saying one is free to run amuckā¦no other way to put my friendā¦
He isnāt really qualified to discuss the Catholic faith and from what I have read, he is none to found of the Church.I am interested in what John Macarther has to say about Catholics and the Catholic Church. Some of what I have read is very sad indeedā¦
fine then you are my enemyā¦so my foe the man said such a thing on public radio so it was more than just myself who heard him say itā¦how recent was the stuff you say he now preachs?First off, you donāt know me so I canāt be your friend.
Secondly, it would be helpful if you would actually post something he wrote and not what you remember him writing or saying. Use his search function for āperserverance of the saintsā.
You can go to his website and do a search on āperserverance of the saintsā and see what you find.ā¦the man said such a thing on public radio so it was more than just myself who heard him say itā¦how recent was the stuff you say he now preachs?
okay so it is quite possible he has changed his views since then, which is goodā¦there was no mention by him (MacArthur) about presevering,in the incedent i relatedā¦it was because he stated the person in letter didnāt need to repent and that he was just fine in living a life of sin,and still be saved, that it stayed in my mind. You can go to his website and do a search on āperserverance of the saintsā and see what you find.
The part about no need to repent sounds strange to me. It could be you mis-heard what he said. It could be he was sloppy w/ his language.
Or, as you pointed out earlier, maybe he has changed his mind on the subject.
From what I read last night, it would appear that he does not believe one can sin all one wants and still remain in a state of justification. There is a difference between āOSASā and the āPerseverance of the Saintsā.
I suppose the perseverance of the saints could be restated to say āhe who perservers to the end shall be savedā and itās God who does the perserving.
There are those who believe that āOSASā means if one says the sinners prayer he/she is ipso facto saved forever and ever regardless of any transgressions. From what I have read and know of MacArthur (which isnāt a great deal) he would not agree w/ OSAS as I stated it above.
You seem to be convinced of what you heard so maybe JM either changed his mind or maybe he was rather sloppy in his speech. I will say that he doesnāt seem to hold that opinion at this time though.okay so it is quite possible he has changed his views since then, which is goodā¦there was no mention by him (MacArthur) about presevering,in the incedent i relatedā¦it was because he stated the person in letter didnāt need to repent and that he was just fine in living a life of sin,and still be saved, that it stayed in my mind.
