Suspect identified as local resident shot and killed by police, they’re looking for a “person of interest” who was travelling with the suspect.

Awful, awful news. My heart goes out to all those people hurt and killed. Utterly horrific.

Father, in Jesus’ name, have mercy on the families of those who were murdered.
Bless injured and the traumatized persons with healing of body and mind.
Please bless their families and help them to cope and to recover.

I texted my son who is visiting Vegas that there was an active shooter. He was blocks away. He texted his cellphone video of 30
police cars racing by.
This is a terrible tragedy. The people were so vulnerable.
I thank God today my son was not in the immediate area.

My sister was and still is in Vegas and attended another concert last night. Thank God she’s ok and I believe planes are now all leaving on time. Thoughts and Prayers with all the victims. Also can someone please edit the subject, the shootings were NOT in LA but in LV - Las Vegas, Nevada.

This is awful. I can’t imagine how terrifying this was to those poor people who were completely exposed in an open area.

If this truly was an automatic weapon that is very unusual. There aren’t many available and they are expensive.

I heard they found 8-10 guns or rifles in his room.

Possibly. But you can get them legally. All you need is a tax stamp and a lot of money. I don’t know the black market but I bet they aren’t cheap there either. I would assume they are actually more expensive.

It is possible he was a veteran and smuggled a weapon home. I heard of a Vietnam vet who had done that.

It is also possible he had an older AR-15 with a trigger conversion kit. Those are themselves illegal but were sold for a while. And there are some other trigger or stock kits that make a semi automatic weapon like a fully automatic weapon, thought they aren’t.

I think a legal automatic is more expensive than an illegal one. If you are planning to die, money isn’t really the concern though. empty your savings.

I read the guy was not a vet.

Maybe, but do you have any knowledge or are just guessing? I’ll say I don’t know myself. From what I understand what makes them expensive in the legal market is that the supply is small. I would think there also isn’t a large illegal supply and dealers in that market would charge a premium since it is highly illegal.

I thought I read the guy was an auditor for Lockheed Martin. Maybe he got a coworker or business contact to steal a weapon destined for ISIS in Syria or some other terrorist group they supply on behalf of the US government.

about the murderer.

Jamie I fixed the heading. Does it say LV now? so glad your family is safe

exnihilo

ISIS have claimed he converted. its not yet proven.
please dont accuse any company of supplying weapons to ISIS without evidence, real evidence. I would find it hard to believe any USA company is supplying to enemies that are terrorists.

7 sorrows , it is a joy your son is safe.

Nevada has very non strict gun law, is an auto ie machine gun type weapon legal?

at this point there is no connection to any international terrorist org.

I thought legal automatics were limited to those produced before a certain date, so limited supply pushes up pricing well above retail of new production since they are effectively ‘collectors items’, then there is the tax.

I expect in vegas, there are contacts to purchase most illegal items
