The people of Maine voted to give homosexuals special rights. This law was defeated 2 times by the voters but then our liberal Democrat governor and liberal Democrat legislature knew they knew better than the voters and voted into law anyway and the idiots in this state voted to keep the law anyway.

In addition to the libs winning the elections in the other states this is very depressing. I think God has lifted his protection of this country and we truly are no longer “One Nation Under God” but instead are “Many Nations under Satan”

If the Republicans lose the House and the Senate next year I fear that the events in France will be happening right here in the USA. You can see what happens when Democrats are in control by looking at the aftermath and the looting in New Orleans after Katrina. The USA is in deep trouble.
 
It’s my understanding that the measure in Maine, which was defeated, would have repealed laws protecting gays against discrimination in employment, housing, etc. I fail to see what is so Christian about denying someone employment or housing based on sexual orientation.
 
Because the law is unnecassary. Gays, like anyone else, are protected against descrimination with exsisting state and federal laws. This law is only a first step to gay marriage. Also, under this law, a male teacher in public school could have a sex change operation and then coach a girls sports team and be in the locker room and there is nothing at all the parents can do about it.

This law is dangerous and will be the first step to gay marriage.

If it is just a restating of extant law, what is the problem? Why get worked up and invoke the devil?

I don’t understand the motivation of people who go through sex change operations. However, I’d be astonished if people did it just so they could perve on schoolgirls - there must be less painful and dramatic ways to achieve that, if you’re so inclined.

Hey CatholicMetis,

I think you are right. Maine has gone to the devil. Most of New England, too (I’m from CT). When a thing is wrong and folks can’t see it, I’d say the place has gone to the devil. Why not be honest about it.
