Over the last 30 games, the Dodgers are 11-19; the Indians are 27-3…bring it on!! [Sherman was an Ohioan]

Yet the Dodgers have still won more games this year than the Indians…
Coming in to today’s games, the Indians have 101 wins and the Dodgers have 102. It is still mathematically possible for the Indians to overtake the Dodgers for the best record in MLB, and home field advantage should they meet in the World Series. Which is amazing since at one point the Dodgers were on a pace for 110+ wins.

Edited to add: Should the Dodgers and Indians finish tied for best record, the Dodgers hold the tiebreaker based on head-to-head record.

The Dodgers have also beaten the Indians 2 of 3 this season. This might all be academic as I question if the Indians will even get past the Astros and into the WS.

If the Dodgers and the Indians should meet in the WS with identical regular season records, the Indians would enjoy home field advantage as the American League won the All Star game.

That’s no longer true!

Yes…but in the last 30 games, they are LOSERS!! They’ll be very lucky to survive their first series…

And the Indians have beaten the Astros 5 of 6. The Indians have actually had more difficulty with the Twins but were still 6-5 vs them. The Indians were 5-2 vs the Yankees. Not sure how much the regular season records matters though come Oct.

You’re just talking smack now. In the final 10 games of the year, the Dodgers are 8-2. Tied with the Astros as the best in MLB. Let’s see if the Indians even make it into the WS…

I would love to see the Indians meet the Dodgers in the World Series…the pitching matches up well…both have potent lineups…defense will be important…one concern for me is that the Indians’ ALDS roster has five players who very recently came off long-term stays on the DL.

[I do talk smack now and then…sorry 'bout that…]

I hope it’s the Cubs and the Red Sox in the World Series.

Sit down for Judge. A Bauer Outage tonight! Cy Young on the mound tomorrow. 10 more to take 17. Go Tribe!

Playoffs are basically a crapshoot. Throw the regular season records out. Even the wild cards have won a fair share of world series titles.

That said, the latest odds of winning the WS.

Indians 11/4
Dodgers 4/1
Houston 4/1
Cubs 8/1
Nationals 8/1
Red Sox 10/1
Yankees 10/1
D-Backs 10/1

I agree. I know Indians fans who were more worried about the Twins than the Yankees based on the regular season. I told them the Yankees match up fairly well on paper though with us. Big win tonight however after Kluber didn’t have a good outing.

PV, Cubs won and something like 72% of the time the winner of game 1 in a 5 game series takes the series. Still a shot at a rematch. 🙂

They’re now 9-2 over the past 11 after slapping around the diamondbacks tonight.

Today’s odds

Indians 5/2
Dodgers 3/1
Astros 3/1
Cubs 9/2
Nationals 12/1
D-backs 20/1
Yankees 25/1
Red Sox 33/1

At home…against an Arizona team that’s minus it’s top two starters…and Kershaw got tagged for four runs…

They have won 10 of their last 12 games – including their first 2 playoff games against AZ.
