The majority of the Republican Party voted to authorize a war against innocent people who never attacked us. Now the majority of them are authorizing the government to turn Medicare into a voucher system that will leave millions of seniors without full coverage. They’re also destroying unions and the working class with union-busting boloney while guys like Paul Ryan lower the tax on the top billionaires class from 35% to 25%…
What does the war have to do with an abortion vote? Just war is a fair debate to have, but it does not have anything to do with an abortion discussion. I do see that the republican Catholics voted pro-life and the democrats did not, so there is a political angle to this. That is sad, that the democrats are apparently not allowed to vote pro-life, at least on the national level.

The first line of defense for those who claim to be pro-life but vote pro-abortion is to change the subject whenever it comes up.

Or commit themselves to the fallacy of; “example to justify” … “the ends justify the means”.

You can not defend the indefensible - It defies logic

The ex Planned Parenthood director, Abby Johnson said that many Planned Parenthood facilities would be forced to close and consolidate if they no longer received taxpayers’ federal and state funding.

Planned Parenthood is in business to profit off the killing of unborn babies and to prescribe low dose birth control that young women will become pregnant on.

There’s plenty of corruption to go around. Planned Parenthood, while dastardly and evil, is not the ONLY evil and the only threat to our civilization…
The majority of Democrats in Senate supported the Iraq war. Obama cuts 500 billion from Medicare and creates incentives to ration care in HCR. But GOP is targeting Seniors?

I don’t suppose it matters that abortion service is about 10% of what PP does and that if you “defund” it, the people who depend on those clinics for health care will have nowhere to go?
There are 800 Planned Parenthoods, there are thousands of federally qualified health centers which offer comprehensive health care free or low cost to women, men, pedriatric care, pharmacutical sercices, dental services and vision services to people with low income.

Planned Parenthood can only offer limited services.

Mike Pence on the Pence amendment which would defund Planned Parenthood:

''The Pence Amendment does not cut any funding for women’s health services under Title X. It would simply block those funds already in the bill from subsidizing America’s largest abortion provider.

“There are literally thousands of clinics across the country — other than Planned Parenthood — that receive federal funding and offer access to health care for low-income women and families.

“In Indiana, for instance, some of these clinics include: Open Door clinics in both Anderson and Muncie; Lafayette Street Clinic in Fort Wayne; Women’s Urgent Visit Center in Indianapolis, and Tri-Cap Family Health Services in Evansville. Around the country, clinics from Maine to Florida and New Mexico to Washington serve the needs of women, such as the Augusta Family Planning Clinic, the Children’s Hospital Adolescent Clinic, the Lake Worth Teen Time Clinic, Healthcare for the Homeless, and the Forks Women’s Clinic — just to name a few.

“The passage of the Pence Amendment was a victory for taxpayers and a victory for life, and I am hopeful our colleagues in the Senate will join us in ending federal funding for Planned Parenthood once and for all.”

“Guys like Paul Ryan” are trying to find a way to get us out of the financial mess we are in. We cannot continue on this spending path. The biggest drain on the budget is the welfare programs and our government has made promises it cannot keep. Do you think it right to continue spending like this and then leave the bill to our children and grandchildren? If the president would step up to the plate and present a budget that helps in this regard, it would be helpful. However, I doubt he has any idea how to fix the budget. He never ran anything in his life. The only thing he is really good at is campaigning and he is hot and fast after that. Fiddle while Rome burns.

Really! You could raise the top tax rate to 90% and billionaires are still only going to pay 15% or so because they make there money off of dividends and tax free bonds. The first rule to creating wealth is do not make money through wages because they are taxed by the State, The IRS,Social Security, Medicaid tax, unemployment tax, etc.Going from 35% to 25% is going to save a lot of money for people making $250k to $1m. As for Unions the entire non-union population, which is about 90%, does not want to pay taxes so you can pay dues to the union and then get pensions for life at age 55! I recently came across an article that calculated all union dues going to the union leaders at $8.5billion and that if that $8.5billion was not sucked up in union dues it could create 250,000 jobs at an average earnings of $33,000.

If this obama care is not defunded why do we need this PPP?The’ll be able to get their tests or whatever for free right?I sounds to me like PPP is just like free medical care in lots of ways.

Standard tactic to deflect the conversation from reality with canards that aren’t defensible. It appears from your post that you think abortion is acceptable. I hope that I am wrong.

No Catholic can vote for any politician who supports abortion.
It is that simple.

The right to LIVE is the most important God-given right that we have.
Without life no other earthly thing matters.

I agree completely, life is an unalienable right from God. I pray that all baptized Catholics act like they honor God’s gifts and laws in the ballot booth. It is for our best interests.

The founders of our country recognized that the right to life was preeminent, above liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Pope Benedict just recently stated that there are 2 types of Catholics: Spiritual Catholics and Professional Catholics. I do believe these Senators belong to the later.

My father had a brief career as a trained accountant auditing health insurance claims. He opposes the plan b/c it shifts the rising costs of health care to the taxpayer. Meanwhile:
The U.S. pharmaceutical industry is one of the most profitable industries in the history of the world, averaging a return of 17 percent on revenue over the last quarter century. Drug costs have been the most rapidly rising element in health care spending in recent years.
That is according to Steven F. Sharfstein MD, former president of the American Psychiatric Association.

I don’t begrudge the drug companies making money but drug costs are rising rapidly and there are huge differences in on-patent vs. off-patent costs. However at some point costs rise too rapidly for the spending to be sustainable.

As a sinner myself, I pray everyday that God forgives me. I for one will not judge these senators reasons for voting to keep PP, however, I will not vote for anyone who is running for polical ofice who is for abortion.

Go with Gods Grace!!!
