I get what you mean. I think a lot of churches have a target demographic although they would never admit that. I wish you success with your studies.

I didn’t realize that a church could refuse marriage if one of the couple was non-Catholic.
IDK… I did double check with my wife last night (she was the one reserving us a church) and she verified that yes, the Father did turn us down since I wasn’t Catholic. We ended up having to go 20 min down the road to a much smaller church (that Father wasn’t to hot on the idea either…but he did do it).

She also said that he would deny baptizing children born out of wedlock and she thought that he wouldn’t baptize children of “mixed” marriages, but I can’t confirm that.

For the benefit of the OP:

“The apostolate should always be exercised in a saintly manner, with such purity of intention, such interior union with God, such generous forgetfullness and abnegation of self, and with so great a love for souls that it [the apostolate] flows from the interior spirit which informs it and at the same time nourishes and renews this same spirit.”(Pope Pius XII, Motu proprio: Primo Feliciter)

So, the interior spirit of the apostolate would provide its own maintenance by its members raising the bar in their ascetical or mystical life. A good question to ask the self - Why not make the opportunity available to the public by ‘schools’ of prayer?
