I think that as a woman looking into the mirror we are focused sometimes on details that a man just isn’t seeing when they look at us. It does not mean that you have been brainwashed by the media. Egyptians were making lip tints while the pyramids were being built! Your boyfriend obviously sees the face that he loves with or without makeup which is great. That being said, if you like a little more even skin tone or a rosier cheek. . .go for it.

I personally have to use eyebrow powder in recent years to feel normal because my brows are barely growing now. It makes me feel more confident when I have visible brows and a bit of cheek color with some colored lip balm. I’ve never had a boyfriend who liked me less without makeup or who insisted that I stop wearing it either.

I switched to using i.d. bare minerals makeup 2 years ago. You might like it if you want something your boyfriend may not even notice as makeup. I start with the usual moisture lotion with SPF protection and then dust with mineral foundation with SPF15 and get an undetectable enhancement. It does not streak or smell or rub off on clothing during the day. I just hear quite often that I have beautiful skin. No mention of “makeup.”

Right before entering high school (before I would have probably begun wearing makeup) I had a cousin who married a woman who I thought was as beautiful as any model. Well, that cousin’s father died and we went over to their house and I saw that cousin’s wife right after she took a shower and she looked like a drowned rat. Her face looked worn and well, she is the reason I RARELY wear makeup (I put on mascara and blush about 4 - 5 times per year). I will say that I look better naturally in the sunny warm months. Makeup would be pointless since my face is glowing during these months. Also, I smile a lot and I think that that actually helps to accentuate my beauty.

Also, I always found it difficult to really apply makeup because I have a face full of freckles that are brown while my skin is a pale pink and well. I never want to cover my freckles but which color makeup would look good considering that I have two different tones on my face. I have found that even natural color lipsticks don’t even match the color combination God gave me.

i just have a question of the ladies (and also the men maybe).

why is it that that i (and possibly other girls) think i look hideous without makeup but my boyfriend thinks i look way better without??

it sounds like a stupid question but i am completely flawed by it! i am pretty sure i am not blind, i can see my imperfect skin!! does he not see it?!??!

is this just me or are there more like me out there?? or…is it as i have been suspecting…my boyfriend is partially blind from playing too many computer games!!!

I would put the opnion of your boyfriend above those of your friends, not because what they say is less “flattering”, but because you are lucky to have a guy who would rather see you without makeup, and appreciates your natural beauty. In today’s world, that is rare. Celebrate it.
(My boyfriend is one of those guys who prefers girls dressed down and with no makeup on, it’s the BEST ) You should appreciate this gift, and stop listening to your friends!
