Terrible news.

This poor woman. (Actually the perp. needs our prayer too.)

Sounds like the police did everything correct that THEY could do too (including apprehending the suspect).

In this case counting on the Government to protect you, and the police doing everything correct, just wasn’t good enough.

Man allegedly breaks into woman’s home twice, rapes her, found waiting in victim’s bed: cops

Fox News June 28, 2018

A Tennessee man is behind bars after he allegedly broke into a woman’s home twice, raped her, before breaking in a third time to wait for her in bed after she went to the hospital, police say. . .

.
. . . Police said when they drove the victim home after receiving treatment, Turner was lying in her bed waiting for her to return. That’s when he was taken into custody and charged with aggravated rape, aggravated burglary and aggravated assault.

my prayers for this poor woman!

No where near as tragic, well before I was born and my mom had married my father my mom was babysitting for her sister. It was late at night and she and the infant had gone to sleep. A man broke into the house and went to the kitchen to make a sandwich.

Mom heard the noise and thought her sister was home. She goes to the kitchen to find a stranger there and takes off running. The dude grabs her. She scratched his face and yelled “Quick, Mary, get the gun!”

There was no one else in the house beyond the infant and there was no gun. But the dude didn’t stick around for verification of the presence of another person or of a gun. He got out of there.

Some years later she was going to a hair dresser and while her hair was being worked on she saw the man with the scratches on his face working there. She never went back to the hair dresser again.

Amazing story!

Thanks for sharing ThinkingSapien.

God bless.

Strategically hidden firearms…just saying.

Lord have mercy on his soul.

I would suggest caution with this. It wasn’t a bad plan at all and obviously worked but he could have then demanded to know where the gun was and it could have gotten even worse. Better to really have a gun and be prepared to defend yourself than use a bluff. (Not at all criticizing you or her, just advising caution)

There will always be lots of “could have’s” with situations for which little information is known. Any strategy taken is a dice roll. I can only make conjecture, but I think the situation would have had a more negative outcome had she not lead him to believe that an armed person was being summoned into the struggle.
