This woman thinks it’s a most practical thing to do. I’ve been trying to convince my DH to carry one but at 60 that’s unlikely to happen.I have become a convert, not in the religious sense, rather a convert to carrying a man bag.
All right, you can stop laughing and jeering now. It is all about stuff. Lots and lots of stuff. Wallet, checkbook, calculator, small flashlight, phone, notepad, pens, compass, eyedrops, etc., etc. It is more stuff than I want to try to jam in my pockets. And pockets seem to be shrinking, even as stuff is waxing.
The man bag is sometimes pointedly called a purse, which must make it a gender issue, as in, “You have issues.”
I think my man bag is a practical solution to a common need for carrying capacity, but some others see it as unmasculine.
Out of my curiosity, I will ask the women here if they have opinions of the manbag
I think if he got an army surplus military bag (like I used to carry back in the early & mid 70s) it would solve the problem with back pain from sitting on a wallet, worn out pants from carrying a wallet in a back pocket, etc.
I had one of these that I dyed black and it was more practical than a purse, plus much cheaper.

These are even more compact and nice looking.
