Well, he got his 15 minutes of fame, and very likely found out that the Italian police do not have much Christian tolerance of such behavior. After a suitable jail term and a large fine, he will, most likely be deported and never be allowed in Italy again. In addition, if he is a US or Canadian citizen, his passport will probably be revoked because of his deportation.
Rome and the Vatican are not New York City or San Francisco!~
